Racing Incident Report

SOU MA TAM was withdrawn on 29.4.09 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (inappetance) and was replaced by first Standby Declared Starter KING POWER (K L Chui). FULL BLESSINGS was withdrawn on 30.4.09 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore foot) and was replaced by second Standby Declared Starter HONEST TREASURE (Apprentice M Chadwick). Before being allowed to race again, SOU MA TAM and FULL BLESSINGS will both be subjected to an official veterinary examination. On jumping, TIGER RIDGE and FEEL-SO-GOOD were taken back. CHAIN WIN began awkwardly and then was hampered by COSMO SUCCESSOR which on jumping shifted out. SCOOT DA LOOT began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped HONEST TREASURE. In the early stages, TATTENHALL DELIGHT raced keenly and proved difficult to settle. After the 1000 Metres, EXPLODING, which was travelling keenly, was momentarily steadied away from the heels of COSMO SUCCESSOR which shifted in when barely clear. Making the turn after the 700 Metres, SCOOT DA LOOT got its head on the side, hung out and shifted wider on the track. The performance of SCOOT DA LOOT was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SCOOT DA LOOT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial around a bend. In the middle stages, HONEST TREASURE hung out and lost ground. At the 200 Metres, Apprentice K C Leung (EXPLODING) dropped his left rein. Apprentice Leung was not able to re-gather this rein for the remainder of the race. TIGER RIDGE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of TIGER RIDGE after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on KING POWER at the request of Trainer K L Man. The Veterinary Officer said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, KING POWER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. EXPLODING and COSMO SUCCESSOR were sent for sampling.
