Racing Incident Report

KING POWER was withdrawn on 1.5.09 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (substantial amount of blood in trachea). As previously advised, KING POWER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again. On jumping, MY SMARTIE and MAGIC TEMPLE were taken back. Also on jumping, FANTASTIC DANCER was bumped by MASSIVE STAR which shifted out. Shortly after this, FANTASTIC DANCER was steadied away from the heels of MASSIVE STAR. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, FANTASTIC TIME failed to muster speed. When the tempo of the race steadied near the 800 Metres, MAGIC TEMPLE commenced to over-race and WADADELIGHT also commenced to over-race, shifted out and bumped FUJIAN PRINCE. Near the 100 Metres, WADADELIGHT was steadied away from the heels of FANTASTIC DANCER. Also near the 100 Metres, WADADELIGHT was struck over the nose by the whip of B Prebble (FANTASTIC DANCER). Shortly after this, WADADELIGHT was steadied away from the heels of FANTASTIC DANCER. Throughout the race, FUJIAN PRINCE, which was travelling wide and without cover, hung out. MAGIC TEMPLE and GOLDEN BALL were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of MAGIC TEMPLE and GOLDEN BALL after the race did not show any significant findings. OLYMPICSHIP, FANTASTIC DANCER and MASSIVE STAR were sent for sampling. <4/5/2009 Additional Veterinary Reports > GOLDEN BALL, which performed poorly, was examined by the Head of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison. He said at that time there were no significant findings. GOLDEN BALL was again examined by the Head of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison at the stables of Trainer A Schutz this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, GOLDEN BALL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
