Racing Incident Report
SUPREME TAIJI was slow to begin. SINGLE MALT began awkwardly. From a wide draw, GLORIOUS GIANT was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Shortly after the start, both INVINCIBLE HEART and MORE LUCKY were crowded for room between FUN and BROTHERS IN ARMS, both of which shifted ground. Near the 1100 Metres, MORE LUCKY was steadied away from the heels of BROTHERS IN ARMS which shifted in when barely clear. Near the 1000 Metres, LUCKY TYCOON became unbalanced when bumped by MISTER HORSE which was taken in by INVINCIBLE HEART which at this time shifted in slightly when being steadied away from the heels of BROTHERS IN ARMS which in turn raced tight inside SINGLE MALT. For some distance after the 1000 Metres, GLOBAL WIN got its head on the side and shifted out. Then passing the 800 Metres, GLOBAL WIN hung out towards the heels of SUPREME TAIJI and lost ground. SAME SAME, which was following, was checked to avoid the heels of GLOBAL WIN. LUCKY TYCOON, which was following SAME SAME, was also checked in consequence. For some distance approaching and passing the 900 Metres, SUPREME TAIJI proved difficult to settle and near the 700 Metres became unbalanced when bumped by SINGLE MALT. Near the 650 Metres, MISTER HORSE got its head on the side and shifted out, resulting in MORE LUCKY being taken wider. LUCKY TYCOON, which was following MISTER HORSE, was steadied away from the heels of that horse in consequence. LUCKY TYCOON had difficulty securing clear running in the early part of the Straight. Passing the 100 Metres, SUPREME TAIJI got its head on the side and shifted out, resulting in LUCKY TYCOON being hampered when taken wider. In the Straight, MORE LUCKY got its head on the side and lay out and then over the concluding stages raced tight inside GLORIOUS GIANT which shifted in under pressure. Throughout the race, SINGLE MALT travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of GLOBAL WIN, T Angland stated that he was instructed that if GLOBAL WIN was able to lead without having to be made use of, he should do so, however, if another runner showed superior speed, he should obtain the box seat. He said he rode GLOBAL WIN along to take up a forward position in the early stages, however, YOUNG SUPREME showed superior speed in the early stages and for this reason he allowed that horse to cross GLOBAL WIN after the 1000 Metres. He said that when crossed by YOUNG SUPREME, GLOBAL WIN got its head on the side and was reluctant to race and, in his opinion, resented travelling in behind runners. He said because of the manner in which GLOBAL WIN raced in the early and middle stages, the horse was then not able to finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of MORE LUCKY after the race did not show any significant findings. SUPREME TAIJI, FUN and LUCKY TYCOON were sent for sampling.
<4/11/2010Additional Veterinary Report>MORE LUCKY, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. MORE LUCKY was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer J Moore this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in the right front fetlock. Before being allowed to race again, MORE LUCKY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
