Racing Incident Report

MACASSAR began awkwardly. ABLE DRAGON was slow to begin. BLADE FORCE began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped FAST INTENTIONS. A short distance later, FAST INTENTIONS shifted in after being bumped by BROTHERS IN ARMS and in turn made contact with BLADE FORCE which became unbalanced. Shortly after the start, EN MASSE became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by SPARKLING. Passing the 1200 Metres, the saddle of H W Lai (SPARKLING) shifted forward, placing him at a considerable disadvantage for the remainder of the race. Near the 1100 Metres, FAST INTENTIONS, which was proving difficult to settle, shifted out when being steadied away from the heels of O’REILLY MAGIC which throughout the race travelled wide and without cover. Approaching and passing the 400 Metres, EN MASSE raced in restricted room when attempting a tight run between LOTUS LOVE which, after being shifted to the outside of BLADE FORCE, then lay in and ISTIDE which shifted out slightly. Rounding the Home Turn, MACASSAR shifted in and brushed the running rail when awkwardly placed close to the heels of EN MASSE. After this, EN MASSE had difficulty obtaining clear running until near the 200 Metres. After the 150 Metres, BROTHERS IN ARMS got its head on the side and shifted out under pressure. Over the concluding stages, MONTE CRISTO shifted in. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that BLADE FORCE had lost its left front plate. A veterinary inspection of SPARKLING and MACASSAR after the race did not show any significant findings. BESPOKE MASTER, MONTE CRISTO and ISTIDE were sent for sampling.
<23/6/2011 Additional Veterinary Report>MACASSAR, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. MACASSAR was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer Y S Tsui this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, MACASSAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
