Racing Incident Report
SOCIETY ROCK and SACRED KINGDOM were slow to begin. When being steadied to obtain cover after the 1100 Metres, SACRED KINGDOM got its head up and proved difficult to settle. K Ikezoe (CURREN CHAN) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 900 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of ENTRAPMENT, causing that horse to be checked. K Ikezoe was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Thursday, 5 January 2012 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Arima Kinen racemeeting (Group 1) to be conducted at Nakayama Racecourse on Sunday, 25 December 2011. Rounding the Home Turn, CURREN CHAN was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ROCKET MAN. Near the 200 Metres, PAS DE TROIS, which was commencing to give ground, was steadied away from the heels of LITTLE BRIDGE which shifted in after being held up for clear running. ROCKET MAN travelled wide and without cover throughout the race. Trainer P B Shaw was spoken to regarding ROCKET MAN proceeding to the Start not having paraded in front of the grandstand without having sought the approval of the Stewards. A veterinary inspection of ROCKET MAN and SACRED KINGDOM after the race did not show any significant findings. LITTLE BRIDGE, LUCKY NINE, ENTRAPMENT and JOY AND FUN were sent for sampling.
<12/12/2011 Additional Veterinary Report> The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that PAS DE TROIS was lame in the left front leg on the morning after racing.
