Racing Incident Report

After being loaded, RADIOMARELLI became fractious, reared and momentarily got its left front leg over the adjacent stall. RADIOMARELLI was removed from the stalls and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, RADIOMARELLI will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.
As the start was effected, SMILING WATCH lifted its front feet off the ground and was slow to begin.
LOVING STAR began awkwardly and made contact with the hindquarters of ABSOLUTE FANTASY.
In the early part of the Straight, LOMBARDI was awkwardly placed inside the heels of RADIOMARELLI.
Close to the finishing line, T Clark, the rider of the 5th placegetter, LOMBARDI, stopped riding due to WINNING LEADER shifting out marginally towards LOMBARDI.
When questioned, M Chadwick (CHANCELLOR) stated that in pre-race discussions it was felt that YUE LU TREASURE, with its 10 lb claim, may assume the lead and that CHANCELLOR would box seat behind that runner. He said he allowed YUE LU TREASURE to cross CHANCELLOR in the early stages, however, he was obliged to race further back in the field when the rider of YUE LU TREASURE allowed ABSOLUTE FANTASY to cross that runner in the run to the first turn. He said throughout the middle stages CHANCELLOR was steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of YUE LU TREASURE due to the moderate tempo. He further stated that when the pace quickened on the Home Turn, CHANCELLOR was left flat-footed and, in his opinion, was not suited by what developed into a sprint home.
A veterinary inspection of SMILING WATCH and CHANCELLOR after the race did not show any significant findings.
RADIOMARELLI and WINNING LEADER were sent for sampling.
