Racing Incident Report

NOSTALGIA was slow to begin.
BAMBOO DANCE and CHANTILLY were taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
CHANTILLY was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight and approaching the 300 Metres was steadied when racing in restricted room between YOUNG HERO and BAMBOO DANCE which shifted out.
HORSESHOE FORTUNE was held up for clear running between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres.
STARLIT WARRIOR was not able to obtain clear running until near the 150 Metres and then passing the 75 Metres raced in restricted room between NOSTALGIA and BULLISH POWER which shifted in slightly. Because of this, STARLIT WARRIOR was not able to be properly tested in the Straight.
Over the concluding stages, ABLE DRAGON and CHANTILLY were crowded for room between BULLISH POWER and YOUNG HERO which got its head on the side and shifted in under pressure.
BAMBOO DANCE was not able to obtain clear running at any stage in the Straight and consequently was not tested.
Throughout the race, KENSWORTH KID travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.
When questioned, O Doleuze stated that it had been hoped that HUMONGUS would be able to take up a more forward position, however, HUMONGUS did not show sufficient early speed to be able to be closer in the field than behind midfield. He said near the 1700 Metres he was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of DANESOUTH and, in his opinion, the horse was not suited by the tempo of the race which slowed in the middle stages. He added in the Straight HUMONGUS was not able to obtain clear galloping room which the horse had previously appreciated when it finishes its races best. He said whilst HUMONGUS was disappointing on face value, he felt the circumstances of the race were not to HUMONGUS’ advantage. A veterinary inspection of HUMONGUS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of BAMBOO DANCE and DANESOUTH immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
NAMJONG TURBO and DARK SECRET were sent for sampling.
