Racing Incident Report

HAPPY WINNER was withdrawn from this race by order of the Stewards when it refused to proceed to the barriers. Before being permitted to race again, HAPPY WINNER will be required to undergo a parade test at which time the horse will also be required to proceed to the Start in a barrier trial conducted on the turf.
MASTER ROMAN was slow to begin.
WHAT A LEGEND and VICTORY IN HAND began awkwardly.
Shortly after the start, COBY WIN shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in DARK KNIGHT being checked when crowded onto HOLEE MONEY which also began awkwardly.
ALLIED AGILITY travelled keenly in the early stages.
Passing the 150 Metres, WHAT A LEGEND and SUPER JUNIOR bumped. WHAT A LEGEND then shifted in, resulting in COBY WIN being inconvenienced passing the 100 Metres.
When questioned, R Bayliss (NICE FANDANGO) stated that ALLIED AGILITY, which was racing to his inside, travelled very keenly in the early and middle stages and was showing more speed than NICE FANDANGO. He said he believed he would have had to ride NICE FANDANGO along to maintain its position directly outside of ALLIED AGILITY after the 600 Metres and therefore whilst not sharing the lead with that horse, he ensured that NICE FANDANGO maintained its position just outside the heels of ALLIED AGILITY to prevent that horse from crossing NICE FANDANGO.
After the race, Z Purton reported that VICTORY IN HAND made an abnormal breathing noise during and after the race. The Veterinary Surgeon subsequently reported that VICTORY IN HAND had an epiglottic entrapment.
A veterinary inspection of COBY WIN, TRUST ME and WHAT A LEGEND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of HOLEE MONEY immediately following the race found that horse to have a large amount of mucoid discharge from its left nostril.
WHAT A LEGEND, ALLIED AGILITY and SUPER JUNIOR were sent for sampling.
