Racing Incident Report

BRILLIANT was slow to begin.
On jumping, SUPER RED DRAGON was steadied away from the heels of DASHING GAINER which shifted in.
LIGHTNING STEED shifted out at the start and bumped CALIFORNIA GUNGHO.
Despite being ridden along in the early stages, BULB ELITE failed to muster speed.
Making the turn near the 1050 Metres, FLYING NOBLE raced tight between BULB ELITE and TIGERLAD which got its head on the side and shifted out away from SUPER RED DRAGON.
Making the turn after the 1000 Metres, TIGERLAD was awkwardly placed outside SUPER RED DRAGON which got its head on the side and shifted out.
Near the 900 Metres, BRILLIANT was steadied away from the heels of TIGERLAD (H T Mo) which shifted in when not quite clear. H T Mo was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Passing the 900 Metres, WINNING WAYS shifted in and bumped GOOD COMPANION which became momentarily awkwardly placed outside the heels of ALL BEST FRIENDS.
In the early part of the Straight, LIGHTNING STEED got its head on the side and lay in and near the 250 Metres was directed out to prevent causing interference to ALL BEST FRIENDS which at this time was having difficulty obtaining clear running.
For some distance approaching the 200 Metres, FLYING NOBLE got its head on the side and lay in towards the heels of GOOD COMPANION.
A veterinary inspection of DASHING GAINER immediately following the race revealed the horse to be displaying an irregular heart rhythm. An endoscopic examination was also conducted on DASHING GAINER at the request of Trainer Y S Tsui. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, DASHING GAINER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on WINNING WAYS at the request of Trainer A T Millard. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, WINNING WAYS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
RELIABLE TEAM and ALL BEST FRIENDS were sent for sampling.
