Racing Incident Report
Approaching the 750 Metres, LITTLE GIANT was momentarily eased away from the heels of RATTAN (C Schofield) and shifted to the inside of that horse as a result of RATTAN shifting out when not quite clear. JOLLY BANNER, which was following LITTLE GIANT, was inconvenienced in consequence. C Schofield was advised to ensure that he is properly clear when shifting ground.
After the 300 Metres, WISHFUL THINKER had some difficulty obtaining a clear run and passing the 250 Metres was shifted to the inside of RATTAN to improve. Then after the 100 Metres, WISHFUL THINKER lay in which resulted in GUNNISON being awkwardly placed inside that horse near the 50 Metres.
After the race, C Schofield stated that, in his opinion, RATTAN did not appear to appreciate the "Good to Firm” racing surface today as the horse did not finish off the race strongly carrying 132 lbs. A veterinary inspection of RATTAN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.
A veterinary inspection of SAUL’S SPECIAL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
FULL OF BEAUTY and JOLLY BANNER were sent for sampling.
