Racing Incident Report

Just prior to the start being effected, KING’S RACE (M F Poon) became fractious and then as the gates opened bumped the inside of its stall and began awkwardly, resulting in the horse losing ground. After the race, M F Poon confirmed that it was intended for KING’S RACE to be ridden in a forward position.
SPONTANEOUS became fractious just prior to the start being effected and then lifted its front feet off the ground as the gates opened, resulting in the horse losing ground.
From wide barriers, CHUNGHWA JINGSHEN and TURF BRILLIANT were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Despite being ridden along in the early stages, DIAMOND LEGEND was slow to muster speed.
After the 1200 Metres, KING’S TROOPER was steadied to obtain cover behind KING’S RACE. When KING’S TROOPER was steadied, SPONTANEOUS, which was racing keenly, got its head up on a number of occasions when being steadied away from the heels of that horse.
After the 800 Metres, DIAMOND LEGEND was taken into a three wide position without cover when COMFORT LIFE shifted out from behind WINSTON’S LAD.
Near the 250 Metres, GENERAL CASTLEDALE was shifted in away from the heels of RED ZOFFANY which got its head on the side and lay in as FANTASTIC SHOW improved to its outside.
Over the final 100 Metres, SPEED FAY FAY shifted out under pressure, requiring its rider, M L Yeung, to stop riding and correct his mount.
A veterinary inspection of DIAMOND LEGEND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
FANTASTIC SHOW and ROMAN IMPERO were sent for sampling.
