Racing Incident Report

WINNING ENDEAVOUR was slow to begin.
TELECOM JAC began only fairly.
COBY OPPA began very awkwardly, shifted in and bumped HARDLY SWEARS. COBY OPPA was then steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
From a wide barrier, POISED TO STRIKE was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
At the 300 Metres, WINNING ENDEAVOUR shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of HARDLY SWEARS which became unbalanced. WINNING ENDEAVOUR was then disappointed for running between HARDLY SWEARS and POISED TO STRIKE which improved to the outside of PING HAI GALAXY.
Close to the finishing line, PING HAI GALAXY momentarily raced in restricted room inside POISED TO STRIKE which was racing in restricted room inside HARDLY SWEARS.
Also close to the finishing line, TELECOM JAC was awkwardly placed inside the heels of MEHBOOB and consequently was not able to be fully tested all the way to the end of the race.
When questioned, K C Leung stated that he had to commence riding GOOD BEAUTY along after the 800 Metres to hold its position behind LORIZ. He said when riding his mount along, GOOD BEAUTY lay in and bumped the running rail near the 550 Metres which resulted in the horse becoming unbalanced. He said he immediately recommenced riding the horse along and continued to ride it rounding the Home Turn. He said in the early part of the Straight he directed GOOD BEAUTY to the outside of LORIZ, however, it did not quicken. He added in the Straight GOOD BEAUTY, which carries its head quite low, finished off the race only one-paced until the concluding stages where it was awkwardly placed inside the heels of LORIZ. He said based on the manner in which GOOD BEAUTY raced tonight, he recommended to connections that they consider stepping up the horse in distance to 1400 Metres in its future race starts.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that POISED TO STRIKE was found to be distressed. As this was the second consecutive occasion that POISED TO STRIKE had been found to be distressed after the race, the horse will be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments before being allowed to race again.
A veterinary inspection of NEXTMODEL and COBY OPPA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
HARDLY SWEARS, MEHBOOB and WINNING ENDEAVOUR were sent for sampling.
