Racing Incident Report

SUPER FLAMES shifted out at the start and bumped WONDERFUL TIGER. SUPER FLAMES was then crowded for room between WONDERFUL TIGER which shifted in after being bumped on the hindquarters by AMAZING BOY after that horse bumped MUDITA on jumping and CENTENARY IBIS which shifted out marginally.
From the outside barriers, WHO LOVES THE ACE and HAR HAR HEART were shifted across behind runners in the early stages to obtain cover.
Despite being aggressively ridden for some distance in the early stages, SHANGHAI GRACE failed to muster speed.
Approaching the 1300 Metres, VIRTUS STAR, which was inclined to lay out, raced tight inside SHANGHAI GRACE which in turn was racing tight inside PEARL CHAMPION.
After the 1300 Metres, WONDERFUL TIGER commenced to prove very difficult to settle and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of OFF THE REEL. WONDERFUL TIGER then raced ungenerously for some distance and shifted out away from the heels of OFF THE REEL near the 1200 Metres, resulting in WONDERFUL TIGER racing wide and without cover and PEARL CHAMPION also being taken wider and without cover. PEARL CHAMPION was then ridden along after the 1200 Metres to obtain the lead passing the 1100 Metres with WONDERFUL TIGER also being allowed to improve and obtain a position closer to the rail.
When the tempo of the race slackened after the 1200 Metres, PRESIDENT STAR was awkwardly placed close to the heels of OFF THE REEL near the 1100 Metres.
Approaching the 900 Metres, SHANGHAI GRACE was left racing wide and without cover and approaching the 600 Metres was taken wider still by OFF THE REEL which shifted out away from the heels of WONDERFUL TIGER. This resulted in OFF THE REEL and SHANGHAI GRACE bumping after passing the 600 Metres.
Passing the 500 Metres, VIRTUS STAR became unbalanced when being checked away from the heels of CENTENARY IBIS. VIRTUS STAR was then awkwardly placed behind CENTENARY IBIS rounding the Home Turn.
After the 200 Metres, WHO LOVES THE ACE commenced to shift in under pressure and approaching the 50 Metres bumped the hindquarters of OFF THE REEL, causing both horses to become unbalanced.
WONDERFUL TIGER hung in under pressure in the Straight.
After the race, J Moreira stated that, in his opinion, PRESIDENT STAR was not suited by the tempo of the race in the early stages, resulting in the horse travelling too keenly. He said because of this PRESIDENT STAR was not able to finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of PRESIDENT STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
CENTENARY IBIS, OFF THE REEL and WHO LOVES THE ACE were sent for sampling.
