Racing Incident Report
WONDERFUL FANTASY undertook its required barrier trial on 27 January 2022 with blinkers on and accordingly was required to race with that gear. Trainer K W Lui was fined the sum of $2,000 for failing to submit a gear change adding blinkers to WONDERFUL FANTASY, a declared runner in this race, by the required time.
OH BRAVO, which was fractious in the barriers, lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected and consequently was slow to begin.
A A AGILITY began only fairly and then was inconvenienced by DAILY BEAUTY which shifted out.
AMAZING BOY shifted out at the start and bumped DRAGON PRIDE. AMAZING BOY was then shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
From the outside barriers, GORGEOUS INHERITOR and DIAMOND STAR were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, HEROIC CHAMPION raced tight outside WONDERFUL FANTASY as HEROIC CHAMPION was steadied to obtain cover.
DRAGON PRIDE was left racing wide and without cover from passing the winning post on the first occasion until after the 1000 Metres.
Passing the 400 Metres, AMAZING BOY was awkwardly placed behind TRAVEL GLORY.
Passing the 300 Metres, HEROIC CHAMPION raced tight inside TRAVEL GLORY which got its head on the side and lay in away from DRAGON PRIDE.
After the 300 Metres, GORGEOUS INHERITOR was checked away from the heels of A A AGILITY when held up behind that horse. GORGEOUS INHERITOR was then shifted to the inside of A A AGILITY in an attempt to improve inside that horse. GORGEOUS INHERITOR was then again checked away from the heels of A A AGILITY approaching the 200 Metres when disappointed for running inside that horse.
Approaching the 200 Metres, OH BRAVO was steadied when held up for clear running behind WONDERFUL FANTASY which was giving ground.
Approaching the 50 Metres, DRAGON PRIDE shifted out under pressure, resulting in DRAGON PRIDE having to be corrected.
A veterinary inspection of ALL YOU KNOW and HEROIC CHAMPION immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
DRAGON PRIDE and AMAZING BOY were sent for sampling.
