Racing Incident Report

LOYAL AMBITION shifted out at the start and bumped NOBLE STEED.
CORDYCEPS TWO began awkwardly.
DECISIVE ACTION was crowded for room on jumping between COPARTNER ERA and PRESIDENT’S CHOICE which shifted in.
LOTUS FAVORITES began awkwardly and then from the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
From outside barriers, STRATHMORETOO and TOYCOON were also steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. STRATHMORETOO then raced ungenerously for some distance after the 1400 Metres.
Near the 750 Metres, COPARTNER ERA commenced to travel keenly and was steadied away from the heels of LOYAL AMBITION. LOTUS FAVORITES, which was following, also commenced to travel keenly and got its head up when hampered in consequence.
Approaching the 700 Metres, DECISIVE ACTION became unbalanced.
NOBLE STEED lay out rounding the Home Turn and was awkwardly placed inside the hindquarters of GENERAL WINNER.
After the race, K Teetan was unable to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of GENERAL WINNER. He said although his mount was required to race wide and without cover after the 1100 Metres, nonetheless the manner in which the horse came under heavy pressure after the 500 Metres and then failed to respond to his riding was of concern. A veterinary inspection of GENERAL WINNER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of GENERAL WINNER, which finished last, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, GENERAL WINNER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of FREE FOAL, TOYCOON and CORDYCEPS TWO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
FREE FOAL, DRAGON PRIDE and PRESIDENT’S CHOICE were sent for sampling.
