Racing Incident Report

After being loaded into the barriers, JUDY’S STAR became fractious and got its head down. JUDY’S STAR was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse had a small amount of blood in the mouth, however, in his opinion was suitable to race. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, JUDY’S STAR was left racing wide and without cover and after being ridden along for some distance in the middle stages commenced to give ground passing the 600 Metres. JUDY’S STAR was then eased down in the Straight. A veterinary inspection of JUDY’S STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The barrier manners and performance of JUDY’S STAR were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, JUDY’S STAR will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
As the start was effected, ANONYMA, which was being assisted by a starting gate handler, became fractious and lunged at the front gates, resulting in the horse beginning very awkwardly and shifting out, causing DIAMOND STAR and MANNA FROM HEAVEN to both become badly unbalanced when taken out by ANONYMA. Before being allowed to race again, ANONYMA will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. After this, DIAMOND STAR was shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier.
A A AGILITY began only fairly.
AMAZING BOY was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion, HUMBLE STEED got its head up and travelled keenly when being steadied to obtain cover.
ZACIAN had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight and near the 150 Metres was awkwardly placed inside the heels of HUMBLE STEED.
At the entrance to the Straight, Z Purton (MISTER ARM) momentarily dropped his left rein. MISTER ARM then lay in under pressure in the early part of the Straight.
MISTER ARM, HUMBLE STEED and SMILING FACE were sent for sampling.
