Racing Incident Report

NOTHING IMPOSSIBLE began only fairly.
KILINDINI shifted out at the start and bumped SUPER BABY. After this, from wide barriers, KILINDINI and SUPER BABY were shifted across behind runners.
Also from a wide barrier, MASTER MONTARO was steadied in the early stages to obtain a position closer to the rail.
KASA PAPA travelled keenly approaching and passing the 800 Metres.
After the 500 Metres, KASA PAPA and SKY FOREVER bumped as KASA PAPA attempted to improve between that horse and DECRYPT.
Passing the 300 Metres, KILINDINI was shifted to the inside of RED TITAN to obtain clear running.
Throughout the race, BEAUTY CHAMP travelled wide and without cover.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of CIRCUIT NINE, M Chadwick stated that he had hoped to have CIRCUIT NINE positioned in about midfield or slightly behind midfield if possible. He said CIRCUIT NINE did not show any early speed after being hampered by SKY FOREVER which shifted out on jumping. He said he rode CIRCUIT NINE along after this in an endeavour to improve its position and passing the 1200 Metres CIRCUIT NINE shifted in abruptly away from the heels of KILINDINI. He said when this happened CIRCUIT NINE appeared to lose concentration as the horse was reluctant to maintain its position and changed lead legs on a number of occasions. He said he had to ride his mount along throughout the middle stages and CIRCUIT NINE did not respond to his riding and then finished the race off only one-paced in the Straight. He added that he was of the opinion that the addition of blinkers at some stage in the future may benefit CIRCUIT NINE and assist the horse in concentrating better in the middle stages. Subsequent to the race, Mr A S Cruz, the trainer of CIRCUIT NINE, indicated that he would experiment with the gear worn by CIRCUIT NINE prior to the horse’s next race start. A veterinary inspection of CIRCUIT NINE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of CIRCUIT NINE, a favoured runner for today’s race which finished towards the rear of the field, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, CIRCUIT NINE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on KASA PAPA at the request of Trainer T P Yung. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea.
Also after the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on WINNER METHOD at the request of Trainer C S Shum. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, WINNER METHOD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of NOTHING IMPOSSIBLE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
ERIMO and WINNER METHOD were sent for sampling.
<10/10/2022 Additional Veterinary Reports>CIRCUIT NINE, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. CIRCUIT NINE was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer A S Cruz this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in both front legs. As previously advised, CIRCUIT NINE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
