Racing Incident Report
LIFE IS GOOD shifted in on jumping and bumped ISLAND GOLDEN. LIFE IS GOOD then shifted out and bumped MAGIC TORONADO which became unbalanced. LIFE IS GOOD then travelled keenly for some distance approaching and passing the 700 Metres.
Passing the 700 Metres, HIGH RISE SOLDIER was steadied away from the heels of ISLAND GOLDEN which got its head on the side and lay in.
Passing the 300 Metres, FLYING DRAGON was shifted to the inside of SMOKEY BEAR to continue improving. FLYING DRAGON was then checked away from the heels of SUPER AXIOM passing the 150 Metres and was shifted to the outside of that horse passing the 100 Metres to obtain clear running.
Throughout the race, SPECIAL M travelled wide and without cover.
When questioned, Z Purton stated that after beginning well GORGEOUS VITALITY initially travelled well in the early stages. He said after the 500 Metres GORGEOUS VITALITY did not travel as strongly as he had hoped and after being shifted to the outside of HARMONY N BLESSED at the entrance to the Straight became unbalanced, shifted out and bumped SPECIAL M. He said when riding GORGEOUS VITALITY out, the horse dipped approaching the 150 Metres and he became concerned regarding the horse’s action. He said for this reason he put the whip down but continued to ride his mount out hands and heels to the end of the race. He added after the race the horse then felt sound in its action. A veterinary inspection of GORGEOUS VITALITY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, GORGEOUS VITALITY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After SPECIAL M was bumped by GORGEOUS VITALITY passing the 300 Metres, CALIFORNIA DEEPLY was directed out away from the heels of SPECIAL M in consequence.
A veterinary inspection of HIGH RISE SOLDIER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
PRETTY QUEEN PRAWN and CALIFORNIA DEEPLY were sent for sampling.
