Racing Incident Report

PEGASUS HERO jumped only fairly and then shifted in and bumped SPANGLE FORTUNE.
COPARTNER ERA was crowded shortly after the start between CHARMANDER and GET THE MONIES which shifted out.
From wide barriers, DURHAM STAR, SPARKY STAR and BULLETPROOF were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
CHARMANDER was held up for clear running making the Home Turn.
Near the 300 Metres, PEGASUS HERO was directed to the inside of GET THE MONIES to secure clear running.
Over the final 100 Metres, COPARTNER ERA could not be ridden out when held up behind SPANGLE FORTUNE.
Over the concluding stages, GET THE MONIES could not fully ridden out to the finish when positioned tight to the inside of HAPPY ANGEL which lay in.
Also over the concluding stages, SPANGLE FORTUNE could not be fully ridden out when racing tight to the inside of YEABOI which shifted in.
HAPPY ANGEL raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
When questioned regarding the improved performance of YEABOI, Trainer C H Yip advised that with the blinkers off tonight, YEABOI relaxed when in front with the slow pace. He said YEABOI was also aided by the 7 lb claim of Apprentice Y L Chung and these were the principal reasons for the improved performance of YEABOI.
When questioned regarding the performance of GET THE MONIES, B Avdulla stated that his preference was to obtain cover behind the leaders, but when PEGASUS HERO held its position one-off the rail in the early stages, he was obliged to allow his mount to stride forward to avoid covering additional ground. He added GET THE MONIES was able to take up the position outside the lead without having to be pressured due to the slow pace of the event, but along the Back Straight from the 800 Metres, when HAPPY ANGEL improved to his outside, he was obliged to make some use of GET THE MONIES to hold his position outside YEABOI. He further added that making the Home Turn he was mindful that his mount hung out at its last start and for this reason he ensured GET THE MONIES was balanced up through that section of the race. He said however when placed under pressure in the Home Straight GET THE MONIES was one-paced and, in his opinion, would be better suited racing at Sha Tin. A veterinary inspection of GET THE MONIES immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, GET THE MONIES will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of BULLETPROOF and SPARKY STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GET THE MONIES, YEABOI and DURHAM STAR were sent for sampling.
<29/6/2023 Additional Veterinary Reports> GET THE MONIES, which performed disappointingly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time the horse was lame in its right front leg. GET THE MONIES was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer K W Lui this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in multiple limbs. As previously advised, GET THE MONIES will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
The Veterinary Surgeon reported that PEGASUS HERO had sustained an injury to its left front tendon on the day after racing. Before being allowed to race again, PEGASUS HERO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
