1 1 GALLANT HERO (E480) From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 8 STRONGEST BOY (H027) Slow to begin. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 11 TO INFINITY (G277) Shortly after the start was crowded and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Lay in in the early part of the Home Straight.
4 2 MASTER TORNADO (G410) No report.
5 7 AMAZING BOY (D513) No report.
6 6 BEAUTY MISSION (G098) Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 300 Metres was held up for clear running behind AMAZING BOY.
7 5 LUCKY BANNER (G354) When questioned regarding the performance, L Currie stated that he was obliged to make use of his mount in the early stages to go forward to avoid racing wide. He said when M M NEBULA did not improve into the race, LUCKY BANNER was left in front a long way from the finish and after making the Home Turn awkwardly gave ground in the Home Straight although his mount was crowded near the 50 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
8 3 SUPER BABY (G364) Approaching the 50 Metres GALLANT HERO (B Avdulla) shifted to the inside of MASTER TORNADO to secure clear running and then lay in whilst being ridden along, resulting in MASTER TORNADO shifting in, crowding BEAUTY MISSION in onto LUCKY BANNER, resulting in SUPER BABY having to be steadied away from the heels of AMAZING BOY. B Avdulla was severely reprimanded. In assessing penalty, the Stewards found that GALLANT HERO had lay in and whilst B Avdulla had attempted to straighten his mount, he should have stopped riding with the whip in those circumstances.
9 10 HAPPY HUNK (H101) Near the 200 Metres was momentarily crowded by TO INFINITY which shifted in.
10 9 SHINKANSEN (H277) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Lay in in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. <9/11/2023 Additional Veterinary Reports> SHINKANSEN, which performed disappointingly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. SHINKANSEN was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D J Whyte this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, SHINKANSEN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
11 4 GALLANT GOODY (H434) Jumped only fairly.
12 12 M M NEBULA (G279) Near the 200 Metres, when commencing to give ground, was hampered when crowded by SUPER BABY which was taken in by LUCKY BANNER before LUCKY BANNER was corrected by its rider L Currie. After the race, Apprentice Y L Chung reported that his mount was pressured in the lead in the early stages and as a result M M NEBULA found it difficult to finish the race off. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance was considered to be disappointing as compared to its previous starts. Before being allowed to race again, M M NEBULA will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
