1 6 CHILL CHIBI (H109) Sent for sampling post-race.
2 9 KARMA (G392) Became fractious after being loaded, removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said it was suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, KARMA will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the race, C Y Ho reported that his mount did not appreciate racing around the Happy Valley circuit and lay out on the Home Turn. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 4 ROMANTIC LAOS (G476) No report.
4 11 THESIS (H111) Near the 1500 Metres was steadied away from VIVA HUNTER which shifted out. Making the Home Turn was awkwardly placed on the heels of SPLENDID LIVING when that runner shifted out.
5 5 SIXTH GENERATION (G120) No report.
6 8 VIVA HUNTER (E369) Approaching the 1500 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied to avoid BRILLIANT WAY (M F Poon) which shifted in when not quite clear. M F Poon was severely reprimanded.
7 12 LUCKY GOLD (G112) Jumped only fairly and then was crowded shortly after the start.
8 1 SPLENDID LIVING (E192) After the race, L Hewitson explained that he was obliged to make use of his mount in the early stages to cross and take up a position closer to the rail and as a result SPLENDID LIVING was not able to finish the race off strongly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 3 ESCAPE ROUTE (E273) Jumped only fairly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 10 STAR CONTACT (E472) Jumped awkwardly and then was crowded shortly after the start. After the 300 Metres was disappointed for clear running between WINNING DRAGON and LUCKY GOLD, both of which shifted ground. Over the concluding stages was steadied to avoid SPLENDID LIVING (L Hewitson) which shifted in. L Hewitson was reprimanded. After the race, K Teetan stated that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages. He said as STAR CONTACT was having its first run in over a month, he was instructed to save his mount for one run in the Home Straight. Trainer D A Hayes confirmed the instructions issued.
11 7 BRILLIANT WAY (G215) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 2 WINNING DRAGON (E461) Obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
