Racing Incident Report

Pla. Horse No. Horse Incident
1 3 HAPPY TRIO (G244) Sent for sampling post-race.
2 4 ERNEST FEELING (E209) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. When questioned, A Hamelin stated that from a wide barrier he was not given any specific instructions other than to avoid racing wide. He said after commencing fairly, he elected to shift ERNEST FEELING across behind runners in the early stages to comply with his instructions. He added after settling towards the rear of the field, ERNEST FEELING did not travel strongly and as a result he was obliged to ride his mount along throughout the early and middle stages to maintain his position at the tail of the field which he attributed to the stronger pace set in tonight’s race as compared to its most previous start when it was able to lead from the inside barrier. He further stated that when placed under pressure in the Home Straight ERNEST FEELING responded well to his riding and finished the race off strongly. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 10 SUPER EAGLE (G408) When questioned regarding his riding out over the concluding stages, Z Purton stated that after improving to the outside of KILINDINI near the 200 Metres, SUPER EAGLE commenced to lay in and as a result he was obliged to correct his mount by applying pressure to his left rein. He added that SUPER EAGLE continued to lay in which restricted his ability to fully ride his mount out to the finish of the event although he was able to continue to ride hands and heels.
4 5 KILINDINI (E236) No report.
5 9 MELBOURNE HALL (D118) Bumped shortly after the start.
6 2 BEAUTY INFINITY (H377) Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start. Raced keenly in the middle stages. For some distance near the 800 Metres was steadied away from SUPER EAGLE. Near the 100 Metres was bumped by GOLDEN LUCK which shifted out and as a result BEAUTY INFINITY became unbalanced. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
7 6 GOLDEN LUCK (H159) Near the 200 Metres raced tight between SUPER EAGLE and KILINDINI which shifted out. Bumped near the 100 Metres and became unbalanced.
8 8 PODIUM (H173) Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Near the 100 Metres was directed to the outside of COLONEL to secure clear running.
9 1 SCOTCH TYCOON (G088) No report.
10 11 COLONEL (D090) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 7 LUCKY QUALITY (D050) Raced wide and without cover from the 800 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
WX 12 ALLOY KING (D287) Withdrawn by order of the Stewards on raceday morning (see General).
