Racing Incident Report

2 1 MIDORI BEAUTY (G334) Slow to begin. Held up for clear running from after passing the 300 Metres until near the 200 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 12 SPEEDY FORTUNE (H097) Had a tendency to lay out during the race.
4 14 JAZZ CLUB (G285) After passing the 300 Metres shifted in abruptly from behind VALIANT ELEGANCE to obtain clear running.
5 7 SKY TRUST (J161) No report.
6 3 FUN ELITE (J042) Jumped very awkwardly and lost ground. Sent for sampling post-race.
7 6 VALIANT ELEGANCE (D285) No report.
8 2 SUPER COMMANDER (D350) Apprentice E C W Wong lost the use of his right stirrup iron on jumping before regathering it a short distance later. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 13 HO HO STAR (H291) After passing the 100 Metres, when commencing to improve, was steadied and shifted in to avoid FUN ELITE and in doing so was again steadied to avoid VALIANT ELEGANCE.
10 9 PANDA (H466) Near the 700 Metres was eased when tightened for room by SPEEDY FORTUNE which was laying out and was also taken out by HAYDAY which was inconvenienced when having to avoid the heels of SUPER COMMANDER. Near the 500 Metres was checked severely when again crowded for room by SPEEDY FORTUNE which continued to lay out away from HAYDAY which shifted out slightly. Whilst the degree of interference suffered by PANDA was significant, the Stewards were satisfied that the main contributing factor to these incidents was the racing manners of SPEEDY FORTUNE and that no rider error was involved, therefore no further action was taken. Held up for clear running over the final 150 Metres and near the 100 Metres was checked severely when disappointed for a clear run between SUPER AXIOM and SUPER COMMANDER. In this incident, SUPER AXIOM was also checked severely when weakening. K Teetan was reprimanded that whilst he may have been in an awkward position on the heels of SUPER COMMANDER, it is an offence under the Rules when endeavouring to obtain clear running where there is insufficient room.
11 11 HAYDAY (H321) No report.
12 8 GLORY B (H373) Blundered on jumping and then was checked and became very unbalanced when being bumped by SUPER COMMANDER which shifted out before being straightened by its rider. As a result of this incident, H Bentley lost the use of his left stirrup iron before regathering it near the 900 Metres. Noted to have lost its right front plate after the race.
13 5 SUPER AXIOM (E105) Near the 100 Metres was checked severely when weakening.
14 10 SAME TO YOU (H057) No report.
WV RISE COMPANIONS (J113) Withdrawn on 19.1.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (left front tendon injury) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter VALIANT ELEGANCE. Before being allowed to race again, RISE COMPANIONS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
