He added when he was concerned there may be something amiss with his mount, he eased it down from the event. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings. Finished tailed out and performance was considered unacceptable. Has since performed satisfactorily in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam – Race 739.

12 J384  MIGHTY STEED  06/07/2024   810  MIGHTY STEED (J384) when questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight, rider stated that after settling in a handy position, he placed his mount under full pressure making the Home Turn to attempt to improve into the event. He said from the 500M his mount did not respond to his riding which resulted in a runner improving to his outside and his mount being positioned behind another runner. He added in the Home Straight his mount finished the race off in a one-paced manner, however, after the 200M became held up before shifting out at the 150M. The Stewards advised rider that over the final 150M he is required to ride his mount with more vigour than what he did on that occasion to ensure that it finishes in the best possible placing in the field - Race 810.
13 H328  GREENWICH  06/07/2024   810  GREENWICH (H328) after the race, rider stated that his mount travelled satisfactorily outside the lead but gave ground quickly in the Home Straight. He added the only explanation he could offer was that his mount did not appreciate the step-up in Class 3 grade in the event. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings – Race 810.
14 J038  SUPER LOVE DRAGON  01/07/2024   791  SUPER LOVE DRAGON (J038) noted to have blood in the mouth on arrival at the Start, was examined by the vet and passed suitable to race. Jumped only fairly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages - Race 791.
