1 H247  SUPER ELITE  27/10/2024   129  SUPER ELITE (H247) when questioned regarding his riding on the Home Turn and the reason he elected to improve to the inside of a runner, rider stated that the instructions were to endeavour to follow a horse into the race as his mount had not finished its races off strongly when improving to the outside of runners. He added that as a result when that runner shifted out slightly on the Home Turn, he elected to improve to that runner’s inside and follow the eventual winner to ride in accordance with his instructions. He further stated that after being briefly held up on the Home Turn, his mount was able to follow the eventual winner into the Home Straight where it finished the race off reasonably well. Trainer confirmed the instructions and the reason why such instructions were issued - Race 129.
2 H046  ACE TALENT  30/10/2024   142  ACE TALENT (H046) when questioned, rider stated that over the final 150M when he commenced to ride his mount along, his mount lay out and as a result shifted out a number of horses. Rider agreed with the Stewards that in the circumstances he should have stopped riding and straightened his mount sooner than what he did. He added that when he recommenced riding his mount out towards the finish of the event, he dropped his left rein. Rider was advised he should ensure that he has proper control of his rein, particularly in circumstances when he commences to use the whip - Race 142.

4 H057  SAME TO YOU  27/10/2024   129  SAME TO YOU (H057) shifted in slightly on jumping and a short distance later was bumped heavily on the hindquarters and became badly unbalanced. In the early stages raced keenly and for some distance approaching the 1000M got its head up when being steadied away from a runner. After the 600M became unbalanced then racing tight. After the 400M was checked when crowded. After the event, rider stated that his mount raced tight for some distance after the 600M and was then checked at the 400M when crowded. He said as a result his mount did not finish the race off in the Home Straight. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 129.
5 H193  SPEEDY CHARIOT  16/10/2024   103  SPEEDY CHARIOT (H193) when questioned regarding his riding, rider stated that from the outside barrier he was asked if possible to take up a midfield position and that if circumstances permitted he was given the option of making an early move around the field. He said on jumping his mount blundered, lost ground and as a result he elected to shift his mount across behind runners in the early stages which resulted in his mount racing towards the rear of the field. He said along the Back Straight he shifted away from the rail to give him the opportunity of complying with the instructions to make a forward move around the field. He said from the 500M he observed a runner, which was racing wide and without cover, and the 9th placegetter, which was positioned behind the aforementioned runner, under pressure and when he felt that those runners would be taken out by the 4th placegetter, he elected to shift to the inside to secure clear running. He added after shifting to the inside, his initial intention was to obtain clear running to the inside of the 8th placegetter, but when that runner shifted in slightly and he received a call from the rider of the 5th placegetter, he was unable to proceed into that run when there was insufficient room to do so. He said as a result he then attempted to obtain clear running between two runners near the 250M, however, when both those runners shifted ground, his mount was then held up for the remainder of the Home Straight and could not be ridden out to the finish of the event. Trainer confirmed the instructions issued and initially expressed dissatisfaction with rider's decision not to shift to the outside as instructed. He added however after further considering the explanation of rider, he could understand why he made such a decision to go back to the inside. After considering his explanation, the Stewards advised rider that he had made an error of judgement by not continuing to the outside of the 9th placegetter making the Home Turn to comply with the instructions and also to allow his mount the opportunity to obtain clear and uninterrupted running in the Home Straight. However, the Stewards found that his riding was not culpable under the Rules having regard to the explanation he provided for shifting to the inside. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 103.

11 D287  ALLOY KING  16/10/2024   103  ALLOY KING (D287) from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the event, rider could offer no explanation for his mount’s performance. Then was examined by the vet who said an endoscopic exam showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Has since passed an official vet exam - Race 103.

2 H304  E GLORY  30/10/2024   142  E GLORY (H304) jumped only fairly, shifted out and made contact with the hindquarters of a runner, resulting in that runner shifting in and the horse having to be checked when crowded. When commencing to finish the race off well was steadied and shifted to the outside of a runner near the 50M to continue into clear running - Race 142.
