When questioned, rider stated that his mount jumped only fairly and as a consequence settled further back in the field than instructed. He said making the Home Turn when following a runner, he elected to shift to that runner’s inside to secure clear running as he felt his mount was not travelling well enough to improve to the outside on the Home Turn. He added after being briefly held up his mount was able to secure clear running on entering the Home Straight - Race 251.

Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings. The next day was reported to be lame in its left hind leg. Has since passed an official vet exam - Race 121.

When questioned, rider stated that after being held up in the early part of the Home Straight, near the 300M he commenced to improve to the outside of a runner when he felt that runner was maintaining a straight course. He said after commencing to shift to the outside of that runner, that runner then shifted out which resulted in his mount not being able to obtain clear running until near the 200M - Race 260.

Following the race was examined by the vet who found that horse to have blood in the mouth - Race 269.
