He said in the early stages when positioned to the inside of a runner, the rider of that ridder showed intent on continuing forward to cross. He said he was of the opinion that had he continued to persist to hold the lead that would result in the pace being too fast and therefore he elected to allow that runner to cross. Trainer confirmed the instructions issued and stated that given the early stages of the event were run outside of standard time he would have preferred for the horse to hold the lead. After considering rider's explanation, the Stewards found the tactics adopted by rider were reasonable in the circumstances - Race 491.

Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings. Racing manners were considered unacceptable. Has since performed satisfactorily in a barrier trial down the straight whilst being ridden out to the finish - Race 435.
