She said after beginning only fairly and when the pace of the early stages was run inside of standard time her mount did not show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings. Performance was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 525.
4 J195  YOUNG CHAMPION  23/03/2025   525  YOUNG CHAMPION (J195) jumped only fairly. From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. For a short distance near the 1000M raced keenly and got its head up when being steadied away from a runner. Near the 900M raced tight to the inside of a runner. Between the 400M and the 300M had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted out - Race 525.
5 G365  DANCING CODE  23/03/2025   525  DANCING CODE (G365) when questioned regarding his riding, rider stated that the instructions were to hold a midfield position with cover. He said at the start his mount jumped well and when he observed the expected leader in the race to not show early speed he elected to allow his mount to cross runners to his inside to avoid racing wide. He said after crossing a runner near the 1100M his mount raced keenly and despite his efforts ran inside of standard time between the 1200M and the 400M of the event. He added that although he was aware his mount was setting a fast pace he felt in the circumstances he had made sufficient effort to set a more sustainable pace but did not want to apply further pressure as his mount is light-mouthed and may have over-reacted to further pressure. Trainer confirmed the instructions issued and expressed satisfaction with rider's decision to go forward when caught wide in the early stages. He added whilst he recognized that the horse did have a light mouth, he agreed with the Stewards that he felt in the circumstances rider could have made a greater effort to reduce the pace in the middle stages to allow the horse the opportunity to finish the race off - Race 525.
6 K168  INVINCIBLE SHIELD  23/03/2025   532  INVINCIBLE SHIELD (K168) bumped at the start. In the early stages raced keenly and near the 950M shifted out when being steadied to avoid a runner. Then continued to race keenly for some distance thereafter - Race 532.
7 K208  MID WINTER WIND  30/03/2025   544  MID WINTER WIND (K208) jumped only fairly, shifted in and dipped shortly after the start when it made contact with a runner. After the event, rider reported that after settling back in the field he placed his mount under pressure in the early part of the Home Straight. He added under pressure his mount lay in and finished the race off only fairly. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 544.

10 J420  MARKWIN  23/03/2025   530  MARKWIN (J420) from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the event, rider reported that his mount made a respiratory noise when placed under pressure on the Home Turn before giving ground in the Home Straight. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 530.
