Near the 350M was shifted in to continue into clear running. After the 200M his mount was steadied and shifted in to obtain clear running. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 570.
3 J550  LOVEISINTHEAIR  09/04/2025   573  LOVEISINTHEAIR (J550) when questioned, rider stated that from an inside barrier the instructions were, if possible to hold a slightly more forward position. He said his mount jumped awkwardly, made contact with the right side of its barrier and as a result settled a little further back than intended. When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight rider stated that his mount, which was having its third race start, did not appreciate racing amongst horses and as a result he was reluctant to force his mount to improve between two runners. He said when he observed the eventual winner shift out away from the rail near the 200M he then considered allowing his mount to improve to the inside of that runner as it was already shifting in towards the running rail. He said when the eventual winner did not leave sufficient room for his mount to improve to its inside he was obliged to stop riding with the whip and direct his mount to the outside of the eventual winner approaching the 50M to ensure his mount obtained clear running to the finish. After considering his explanation the Stewards found the tactics adopted by the rider were reasonable in the circumstances - Race 573.
4 K099  KING ALLOY  12/03/2025   501  KING ALLOY (K099) when questioned, rider stated that the instructions were to hold an on-pace position. He said after jumping awkwardly and being badly crowded, his mount lost ground. He said having regard to the instructions he allowed his mount to go forward in the early stages and entering the Back Straight his intention was to endeavour to cross a runner. He said when his mount failed to show sufficient pace to do so it was left racing very wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Rider agreed with the Stewards that in retrospect he would have been better suited by riding his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages after receiving interference at the start - Race 501.
