He said with the pace of the event being run inside of standard time throughout the early stages, his mount settled back in the field and from the 600M he attempted to improve into the race three wide. He added after entering the Home Straight his mount made a respiratory noise and responded only fairly to his riding, but, in his opinion, would be better suited by being stepped up in distance for its next race start. Trainer confirmed the instructions and said such instructions were issued to avoid the horse being obliged to race wide had he elected to go forward. After the race was reported to be a "roarer” - Race 116.
