2 3 VICTORY WARRIOR (CA338) M Rodd V Broke well and niggled along to lead narrowly on rail through to straight. Ran on fairly when asked 300 M out, soon headed after the 200 M and fought on doggedly in the closing stages to hold onto 2nd place.
3 2 OUR JET (CD128) G Schofield -- Tardy start and pushed along to race in better than midfield on rail. At the 600 M was checked when crowded for room. Made up steady ground inside final 200 M but just failed to run down the 2nd placegetter.
4 11 EVERY TIME (CD314) R Fradd -- Soon raced in worse than midfield 3 wide through to straight. Took a little while to get going when asked 300 M out, made up good ground inside final 250 M without threatening the placegetters.
5 6 INVERNESS (CD108) C Williams TT Began fairly and niggled along to race in midfield or better 2 wide. Switched wide on straightening to obtain clear running under pressure 300 M out and made up little ground inside final 300 M to be closest at finish.
6 4 PAOBRIDGE (CB073) P Payne B Best out from widest and ridden along to race outside the leader through to straight. Kept on fairly when asked 300 M but steadily weakened inside final 200 M.
7 10 COP HILL LAD (CD292) H K Yim -- Soon settled in the rear section on rail through to straight. Made up little ground in the closing stages to be closest at finish.
8 12 BRAVE KNIGHT (CC131) Y T Cheng TT Slowly away and soon dropped to the rear on rail through to straight. Under pressure 300 M out and made up little late ground to be closest at finish.
9 1 GOLDEN CARE (CD188) D Dunn -- Unable to muster early speed to race in midfield on rail through to straight. Unable to quicken when asked 300 M out and only kept on evenly to the line.
10 8 DANHERO (CA337) Y Lerner -- Outpaced in the early stages to race in midfield 2 wide. Near the 500 M whilst hanging in was shuffled back to rear section. Made up little ground over the concluding stages.
11 5 HIGHLILLI (CD092) F Coetzee TT Broke fairly from wide draw and ridden along to race in a forward position 2 to 3 wide through to straight. Unable to quicken when asked 300 M out and further weakened inside final 100 M.
12 9 KROVANH (CD373) G Mosse -- Unable to muster early speed to race towards the rear 2 wide. Steadily switched to the widest at home turn to obtain running but failed to make any impression in the straight.
