2 3 MAJESTIC FEELING (CC381) D Whyte -- Jumped well from widest draw and was ridden along to race alongside the leader after 1000 M. Took the lead briefly at 200 M before being headed by the winner.
3 11 TRUST ME (CA144) W M Lai -- Off well but steadily dropped to be in rear. Improved to midfield from a 3-wide position rounding home turn. Gave chase in the straight but posed no threat to the top pair.
4 5 KEEN FLYER (CB330) H W Lai B/TT Hard ridden out of the gates to take the lead after 1000 M. Dug deep to hold its lead in the straight but got its head up and not striding well after being headed final 200 M.
5 9 MASTER YING (CB249) A Delpech -- Ridden along early. Settled on rails behind the leaders from 800 M through to straightening. Only kept same pace to line.
6 1 DILIGENT (CC285) B Doyle H Slowly away, hard ridden to make up ground but got no better than midfield. Caught behind a weakening runner 700 M out and was shuffled back to be among last few into the straight. Made up ground in the straight.
7 10 RAIN IN SPRING (CC320) A Starke -- Began awkwardly and became detached in the early stages. Niggled along to catch up with field before straightening with more than 8Ls to make up. Made up a bit of ground in the straight.
8 2 SIR OCTAVIUS (CB427) R Fradd -- 4-wide at midfield. Made progress steadily to race just behind the leaders at 800 M. Continued to be 4-wide making the turn and was one paced in the straight.
9 7 SHARE THE FUN (CC111) G Schofield TT Soon travelled in rear section. Made progress in a 4-wide position at 600 M but failed to continue on in the straight.
10 6 SAINTLY PARTNERS (BV292) P Payne P Best out from wide draw. Failed to cross to the lead and settled wide behind midfield. Lacked a response when pressured at 600 M and only ran past beaten runners.
11 4 DEVON ELITE (CA166) C Williams B Near the back early. Made progress along the outside to reach within 2Ls of leaders rounding home turn but was widest and without cover. Dropped out shortly after entering home straight. (Lame.)
12 8 SPEEDY EXPRESS (CB365) G Mosse B Niggled along behind the leaders until the turn. Struggled 700 M out and commenced to lose ground. Weakened and tailed out. (Blood in trachea.)
