2 5 ELEGANT WIN (CG297) Z Purton TT Out in line, took sit in front of midfield 6Ls from lead, travelled well on bend, gradually improved turning, made strong finish from 300 M but couldn't match speed of winner last 100 M.
3 13 RIBOT LEGEND (CK030) M Du Plessis -- Began with rest, pressed on to race first without cover, 5Ls from tearaway leader, travelled well to bend, gradually improved turning, kept on soundly for placing despite having to cart field up.
4 8 SUPER SATIN (CK116) D Whyte -- Standard jump, drifted back into a midfield role 7Ls off front, did share of work 3 wide no cover, kept responding despite hard run and was a big effort to make frame.
5 3 OSVALDO (CK075) B Prebble B1/H/TT Awkwardly away and restrained from an outside alley, ended up in rear division, 8Ls away on rails, followed eventual winner on bend, not clearest run in straight but kept closing to be nearest on line.
6 4 PACKING BUDDY (CK264) H W Lai B Began nicely, raced first behind leader 3Ls away, followed a strong speed throughout, well clear of rest, kept giving on turning but peaked inside 200 M, despite being a bit short of room.
7 10 GLORY OF INDIA (CK130) J Winks B/TT1 Even jump, positioned 6Ls off tearaway leader on fence, had a good run to bend, shifted on turning, made steady headway late without threatening.
8 9 CIRCUIT HERO (CG304) K C Leung B/TT Lacked speed from jump, ended up 3 wide 8Ls off top end, had cover throughout, still had job to do turning, made gradual progress down centre without looking likely. (See Racing Incidents.)
9 6 GOOD LUCK WIN (CK004) C K Tong B/XB/TT First to hit ground, settled 3Ls clear soon after, ran along at a strong tempo, got further in front on bend, held margin to 150 M before early workload told and dropped off.
10 2 LOCAL POWER (CH296) S K Sit -- Out in line, restrained to race in rear division, ended up sharing trail 10Ls back, set a task same margin down on turning, made minor ground from impossible spot. (See Racing Incidents.)
11 11 MULTO EXPRESSO (CG098) D Beadman CP Bounced out but soon drifted into midfield, raced 7Ls back in running line, had even run thereafter, found little in straight and struggled in run to line. (Jockey reported flat. Lame next day.)
12 12 ACE OF SPADES (CK265) W M Lai -- Moderate break, positioned behind midfield 8Ls away in running line, well back and struggling on turning, soon under pressure and showed little.
13 1 HIGH AIM (CK211) K T Yeung B Decent break, took spot on rails 5Ls off lead, had even run following solid speed, one paced turning and gave in cheaply.
14 14 WESTERN STAR (CK299) J Lloyd -- Slow into stride, positioned at tail 10Ls from lead, never likely despite some crowding at 200 M.
