Race:1 (178) FUKUSHIMA HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 5 1200 m

Trainer D A Hayes was fined the sum of $3,000 for presenting CASA KINGDOM in the Parade Ring without a parade hood, part of that horse’s declared gear.
DIVINE ERA shifted in at the start and bumped TELECOM MISSILE.
SPLIT OF A SECOND began only fairly and then was crowded for room between FOREVER CITY and GENERAL TRUMP.
JOY AVENUE shifted out at the start and bumped the hindquarters of VIVA MAMA which became unbalanced. After this, from a wide barrier, JOY AVENUE was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
After initially being ridden along in the early stages, GENERAL TRUMP was steadied approaching the 1100 Metres to obtain cover when racing wide.
After the 1100 Metres, ONE STEP AHEAD and SPLIT OF A SECOND raced tight. SPLIT OF A SECOND was then awkwardly placed inside the heels of CASA KINGDOM near the 1050 Metres.
Approaching the 1000 Metres, ISLAND SUNSHINE got its head on the side, lay out and bumped VIVA MAMA. ISLAND SUNSHINE then travelled wide and without cover throughout.
At the entrance to the Straight, OURGOLDENRULES and TELECOM MISSILE raced tight.
In the early part of the Straight, GENERAL TRUMP had some difficulty obtaining clear running.
At the 175 Metres, DIVINE ERA became unbalanced of its own accord. A veterinary inspection of DIVINE ERA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Approaching and passing the 100 Metres, JOY AVENUE raced tight inside the heels of ONE STEP AHEAD when endeavouring to improve inside that horse where there was insufficient room. This resulted in JOY AVENUE being disappointed for running inside that horse after the 100 Metres.
A veterinary inspection of TELECOM MISSILE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
VIVA MAMA, ONE STEP AHEAD and GENERAL TRUMP were sent for sampling.

Race:2 (179) KYOTO HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 4 1200 m

FARIBAULT began very awkwardly, resulting in its rider, K Teetan, losing the use of his left stirrup iron which he was able to regather shortly after the start. As K Teetan regathered his left stirrup iron, FARIBAULT shifted out and lost ground.
JOY MASTER began only fairly.
REGENCY STAR shifted in at the start and bumped GOOD BEAUTY which in turn shifted in, resulting in COOLCELEB and SPICY GRILL being crowded for room outside HANG’S CHOICE. SPICY GRILL, COOLCELEB and GOOD BEAUTY then continued to race tight which resulted in SPICY GRILL becoming unbalanced near the 1150 Metres and shifting out and in doing so inconvenienced COOLCELEB and GOOD BEAUTY.
From a wide barrier, LUMEN BABA was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 1100 Metres, as GOOD BEAUTY was being taken out by COOLCELEB, it bumped heavily with LUMEN BABA which, after being shifted in, then got its head on the side and shifted in further. This resulted in both GOOD BEAUTY and LUMEN BABA being inconvenienced.
Passing the 1100 Metres, COOLCELEB was awkwardly placed outside the heels of SPICY GRILL when being steadied to obtain cover.
Approaching the 800 Metres, MY MY MY travelled keenly when being steadied to obtain cover behind HAPPILY FRIENDS.
After the 800 Metres, MELBOURNE HALL was left racing wide and without cover.
Near the 550 Metres, HANG’S CHOICE lost ground when momentarily racing tight inside FARIBAULT which itself was racing tight inside MELBOURNE HALL. JOY MASTER, which was following HANG’S CHOICE, was shifted out away from the heels of that horse and then after the 500 Metres was awkwardly placed behind HANG’S CHOICE when unable to improve between that horse and COOLCELEB.
Near the 450 Metres, GOOD BEAUTY raced tight outside COOLCELEB which lay out.
Approaching the 300 Metres, REGENCY STAR and FIGHTING STAR raced tight.
MELBOURNE HALL got its head on the side and lay out under pressure in the Straight.
Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of V Borges (GOOD BEAUTY), 6th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse’s finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out at least hands and heels to the end of the race where circumstances permit.
After the race, C Schofield reported that FIGHTING STAR did not feel comfortable in its action in tonight’s race. A veterinary inspection of FIGHTING STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, FIGHTING STAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Also after the race, Z Purton stated that, in his opinion, MELBOURNE HALL’s failure to finish off the race was attributable to the horse travelling keenly in the early stages when racing wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of MELBOURNE HALL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of MY MY MY immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, MY MY MY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
MELBOURNE HALL, REGENCY STAR and SPICY GRILL were sent for sampling.

Race:3 (180) KYOTO HANDICAP (Sec2) Class 4 1200 m

As the start was effected, TELECOM ROCKET, which was fractious in the barriers, lifted its front feet off the ground and consequently was slow to begin.
FORTUNE HERO shifted out at the start and bumped COMPASSION SPIRIT which became unbalanced when crowded for room inside FORTUNE CARRIER which shifted in. After bumping with COMPASSION SPIRIT, FORTUNE CARRIER shifted out and inconvenienced KOWLOON EAST STAR.
After travelling a short distance, TELECOM CHEETAH shifted in and brushed the hindquarters of PANZERSCHRECK.
Near the 1150 Metres, TELECOM CHEETAH was steadied away from the heels of NOIR RIDER (K Teetan) which when being ridden along shifted in. K Teetan was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Passing the 500 Metres, COMPASSION SPIRIT was awkwardly placed close to the heels of FORTUNE CARRIER which itself was racing close to the heels of TEAM GOODLUCK.
Passing the 300 Metres, FORTUNE CARRIER got its head on the side and lay in towards the heels of TEAM GOODLUCK, resulting in FORTUNE CARRIER being awkwardly placed outside that horse.
Close to the finishing line, WINWIN THIRTYTHREE was steadied when disappointed for running between FORTUNE HERO and TEAM GOODLUCK which shifted in under pressure. Because of this, WINWIN THIRYTHREE was not able to be ridden out all the way to the end of the race.
For the majority of the race, VALIANT ELEGANCE travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, NOIR RIDER was noted to be making an abnormal breathing noise. An endoscopic examination of NOIR RIDER found that horse to be a "roarer” and to have a substantial amount of mucus in its trachea.
A veterinary inspection of VALIANT ELEGANCE immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.
COMPASSION SPIRIT and UNIVERSAL GO GO were sent for sampling.

Race:4 (181) HANSHIN HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 4 1800 m

DIONYSUS COLLIN began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped KUNGFUMASTER PANDA, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced.
NUNCHUKS shifted in at the start and inconvenienced WINNING VOLATILITY.
ALL JOYFUL began awkwardly and then was brushed by MURRAY’S PARTNERS which shifted out. After this, MURRAY’S PARTNERS and ALL JOYFUL were shifted across behind runners.
From the outside barrier, RED IMPACT was also steadied to obtain cover in the early stages.
Near the 1750 Metres, DIONYSUS COLLIN was steadied away from the heels of KUNGFUMASTER PANDA which in turn was steadied to avoid the heels of UNITE SPIRIT (C L Chau) which shifted in. C L Chau was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances when shifting ground.
Near the 1700 Metres, MURRAY’S PARTNERS was crowded for room between DIONYSUS COLLIN (H N Wong) and VILLA FIONN (K Teetan), both of which shifted ground. Both H N Wong and K Teetan were advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, METHANE was left racing wide and was steadied in an attempt to obtain cover. After being unable to obtain cover, METHANE travelled wide and without cover throughout.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion, UNITE SPIRIT got its head up when awkwardly placed behind NUNCHUKS.
Approaching the 1300 Metres, WINNING VOLATILITY raced tight inside VILLA FIONN which was taken in by METHANE which shifted in before being directed out to relieve the crowding.
Near the 800 Metres ALL JOYFUL was steadied away from the heels of RED IMPACT when being shifted to the outside of that horse to commence improving.
Near the 550 Metres, DIONYSUS COLLIN was crowded for room inside RED IMPACT which was racing tight inside MURRAY’S PARTNERS.
Near the 450 Metres, RED IMPACT raced tight between MURRAY’S PARTNERS and WINNING VOLATILITY when improving into restricted room between those horses.
Passing the 300 Metres, KUNGFUMASTER PANDA was checked away from the heels of DOUBLE TAKE when disappointed for running inside that horse. After this, KUNGFUMASTER PANDA was held up for clear running until near the 100 Metres.
WINNING VOLATILITY had some difficulty obtaining clear running after the 150 Metres.
Passing the 100 Metres, RED IMPACT and VILLA FIONN brushed.
When questioned, K C Leung (NUNCHUKS) stated that it was anticipated that UNITE SPIRIT would take up a forward position and that NUNCHUKS would be able to obtain a trailing position behind that horse which it was anticipated would be in advance of midfield. He said NUNCHUKS began very well and when UNITE SPIRIT was steadied by its rider in the early stages, he was able to shift across and clear that horse without having to make any use of his horse. He said whilst this resulted in NUNCHUKS being ridden more forward than had been anticipated, nonetheless the horse was able to obtain this position easily and then travelled comfortably throughout the race.
A veterinary inspection of METHANE, MURRAY’S PARTNERS and ALL JOYFUL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
ALL JOYFUL, FAST PACE and RED IMPACT were sent for sampling.

Race:5 (182) KYOTO HANDICAP (Sec3) Class 4 1200 m

HYPERION TREE shifted in at the start and bumped PARTY WARRIOR which then shifted in and crowded the room of RED BRICK FIGHTER.
ARES shifted out at the start, resulting in HERE COMES TED becoming badly unbalanced and losing ground when crowded for room inside NOBLE DESIRE. After this, HERE COMES TED was shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier.
Shortly after the start, NOBLE DESIRE and HAPPY GOOD GUYS brushed.
In the early stages, HAPPY GOOD GUYS was steadied from a wide barrier to obtain cover.
Near the 950 Metres, HYPERION TREE was awkwardly placed outside the heels of RED BRICK FIGHTER.
After travelling wide and without cover in the early stages, GOOD SHOT was then able to obtain cover passing the 900 Metres but was again left racing wide and without cover near the 650 Metres. GOOD SHOT was then ridden along to obtain a more forward position, however, continued to race wide and without cover outside the lead after the 600 Metres.
At the entrance to the Straight, A SMILE LIKE YOURS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of NOBLE DESIRE.
Passing the 300 Metres, NOBLE DESIRE and GOOD SHOT raced tight.
Passing the 50 Metres, AMAZING NEWS raced tight between HAPPY GOOD GUYS and RED BRICK FIGHTER which shifted out.
A veterinary inspection of ARES, HYPERION TREE and MOON PEAKS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A SMILE LIKE YOURS, PARTY WARRIOR and HERE COMES TED were sent for sampling.

Race:6 (183) KOKURA HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 3 1000 m

TRIPLE TRIPLE was withdrawn on 15.11.21 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (blood abnormality) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter ASTROLOGER. Before being allowed to race again, TRIPLE TRIPLE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
PROPICE lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected and began only fairly.
DECISIVE TWELVE and ESCAPE ROUTE were crowded for room on jumping between RESOLUTE and MAGIC PHOENIX, both of which shifted ground.
METRO WARRIOR stumbled at the start, shifted in and bumped AMAZING ROCKY, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced.
From a wide barrier, ASTROLOGER was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
Approaching the 700 Metres, DECISIVE TWELVE commenced to travel keenly and got its head up when awkwardly placed outside the heels of RESOLUTE.
Approaching the 600 Metres, HARMONY FIRE was eased away from the heels of HEART CONQUERED which shifted in.
ESCAPE ROUTE lay out approaching the 400 Metres.
Passing the 200 Metres, the whip of C L Chau (HEART CONQUERED) was knocked from his grasp by the whip of C Schofield (METRO WARRIOR).
Throughout the race, METRO WARRIOR travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on AMAZING ROCKY at the request of Trainer T P Yung. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, AMAZING ROCKY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of PROPICE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
ASTROLOGER and HARMONY FIRE were sent for sampling.

Race:7 (184) THE JAPAN RACING ASSOCIATION TROPHY (HANDICAP) (Sec1) Class 2 1650 m

At the time of declaration, L Ferraris (BEAR AGAIN, 118 lbs) notified a probable overweight of 1 lb. At the time of weighing out, L Ferraris requested a further pound overweight which is permitted under the Rules. L Ferraris then weighed in at 121 lbs, 3 lbs over the horse’s allocated weight. Jockey Ferraris was fined the sum of $7,500.
On arrival at the Start, the tongue tie applied to KILINDINI was replaced.
SUNSHINE WARRIOR began only fairly.
From the outside barrier, KILINDINI was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
SUNNY STAR was also steadied to obtain cover in the early stages.
Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, TELECOM FIGHTERS bumped the hindquarters of SOLAR WAI WAI due to both horses shifting ground. After this, SOLAR WAI WAI got its head on the side and lay in away from TELECOM FIGHTERS, resulting in SOLAR WAI WAI being awkwardly placed outside the heels of BEAR AGAIN passing the 1400 Metres. SOLAR WAI WAI then continued to race with its head on the side and lay in.
Passing the 1000 Metres, SOLAR WAI WAI was awkwardly placed behind TELECOM FIGHTERS.
Approaching the 100 Metres, THE ROCK was steadied when disappointed for running between BEAR AGAIN which was giving ground and SOLAR WAI WAI which lay in under pressure.
SAVAQUIN lost its right front plate after the race.
A veterinary inspection of THE ROCK, SAVAQUIN and BEAR AGAIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
BELUGA, SUNNY STAR and TELECOM FIGHTERS were sent for sampling.

Race:8 (185) NAKAYAMA HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 3 1200 m

Prior to being saddled up, SIMPLY FLUKE was reported to be locking its right stifle. SIMPLY FLUKE was examined by the Veterinary Officers after being saddled, in the Parade Ring, on the way to the Start and after arriving at the barriers. After the necessary consultations, SIMPLY FLUKE was found to be suitable to race. A veterinary inspection of SIMPLY FLUKE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
JAZZ ANGEL began very awkwardly and lost ground and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
From the outside barriers, MOMENTUM GALAXY and SIMPLY FLUKE were also steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
Shortly after the start, ELON was steadied to obtain cover.
Near the 1100 Metres, WINE AND WINE (C Wong) shifted in, resulting in COLONEL being taken in and causing CALIFORNIA CIBLE to race tight between COLONEL and MAKE IT QUICK. COLONEL then got its head on the side and shifted in away from WINE AND WINE for some distance which resulted in CALIFORNIA CIBLE being crowded for room and having to be steadied away from the heels of COLONEL near the 1050 Metres. MAKE IT QUICK, which was racing to the inside of CALIFORNIA CIBLE, was also inconvenienced. As the Stewards were of the opinion that the racing manners of COLONEL had played a significant role in this incident, they elected not to proceed to a charge of careless riding against Jockey Wong, rather he was severely reprimanded and told to ensure that he leaves comfortable racing room for runners to his inside in similar circumstances.
C Wong (WINE AND WINE) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching and passing the 600 Metres he steadied his mount in such a manner as to cause WINE AND WINE to lose ground abruptly which resulted in SUPER DOBBIN, which was following WINE AND WINE, having to be checked away from behind WINE AND WINE which caused CALIFORNIA CIBLE to be steadied away from the heels of SUPER DOBBIN and which resulted in READY TO WIN having to be shifted out away from behind CALIFORNIA CIBLE and in doing so being severely checked when unable to improve between CALIFORNIA CIBLE and ELON where there was insufficient room. When READY TO WIN was checked, CLASSIC POSH, which was following that horse, was checked to avoid the heels of that horse in consequence. In the circumstances, C Wong was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 8 December 2021 and to expire on Thursday, 16 December 2021 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays). When READY TO WIN was checked as a result of having to be shifted out away from the heels of CALIFORNIA CIBLE and attempting to improve between that horse and ELON, ELON was crowded for room after improving into tight running inside MAKE IT QUICK which making the turn after the 600 Metres lay out away from behind HONG KONG BET. After this, MAKE IT QUICK travelled wide and without cover.
Passing the 300 Metres, COLONEL got its head on the side, lay in and brushed WINE AND WINE.
A veterinary inspection of SUPER DOBBIN immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER DOBBIN will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
CALIFORNIA CIBLE and MOMENTUM GALAXY were sent for sampling.

Race:9 (186) TOKYO HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 3 1650 m

On arrival at the Start, C L Chau, the rider of STAR OF YUEN LONG, advised the Veterinary Officer that the horse had put in a number of awkward strides when proceeding to the barriers. The Veterinary Officer reported that after examining STAR OF YUEN LONG and after the necessary consultations the horse was found to be suitable to race.
HALL OF CHAMP and THE ANOMALY bumped at the start.
SUPER OASIS shifted out at the start and bumped INCANTO PREPARED. After this, SUPER OASIS was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier.
From wide barriers, KING’S CAPITAL and SACRED IBIS were also steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, FA FA was awkwardly placed outside the heels of HALL OF CHAMP when being steadied to obtain cover.
After passing the winning post on the first occasion, INCANTO PREPARED shifted in and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of HALL OF CHAMP. RIGHT HONOURABLE, which was following INCANTO PREPARED, was shifted out away from the heels of that horse approaching the 1300 Metres.
Passing the 900 Metres, RIGHT HONOURABLE commenced to travel keenly and shifted out away from the heels of INCANTO PREPARED. After this, RIGHT HONOURABLE was left racing wide and without cover.
After the 700 Metres, STAR OF YUEN LONG and SURREALISM raced tight as SURREALISM improved to the outside of the heels of THE ANOMALY.
Making the turn after the 600 Metres, THE ANOMALY brushed the running rail.
After the 200 Metres, INCANTO PREPARED was awkwardly placed close to the heels of KING’S CAPITAL when being shifted to the outside of that horse.
Near the 150 Metres, SUPER OASIS was directed out away from the heels of MERCURIAL.
A veterinary inspection of STAR OF YUEN LONG immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
FA FA and EXCEPTIONAL NICE were sent for sampling.

Racing Laboratory tests of BRAVE POWER, SUPER KIN, DIAMOND STAR, INFINITE POWER, MEGA BONUS, DARCI JOY, OSCAR GLORY, SIGHT SPIRIT, SHOWALOT, GOOD RUNNER, SO AWESOME, PEAK TO PEAK, NIMBLE NIMBUS, TRILLION WIN, FANTASTIC WAY, GLORIOUS DRAGON, TOURBILLON DIAMOND, KA YING STAR, NERVOUS WITNESS, CORDYCEPS SIX, RUN RUN COOL, MASTER DELIGHT, MALDIVES, IMA SINGLE MAN and BLAZE WARRIOR (7.11.21) proved negative.
