Race:1 (205) CHEVALIER ALUMINIUM ENGINEERING HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 4 1000 m

WONDERFUL HORSE was slow to begin.
EUROMISSILE lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected and began only fairly.
CIRCUIT SEVEN began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped NOBLE DESIRE.
WONDERFUL HORSE was very awkwardly placed close to the heels of AQUILA after the 500 Metres and passing the 400 Metres was shifted out away from the heels of that horse when continuing to be awkwardly placed behind AQUILA. WONDERFUL HORSE then became unbalanced when racing tight outside the heels of AQUILA after the 300 Metres.
Passing the 400 Metres, EUROMISSILE became unbalanced after being bumped by CIRCUIT SEVEN.
GLENEALY GENERALS lay out under pressure over the latter stages of the race.
Passing the 100 Metres, EUROMISSILE was shifted in away from the heels of GORGEOUS VITALITY which was taken in by CIRCUIT SEVEN which, after being bumped on the hindquarters by GORGEOUS VITALITY, then shifted in under pressure.
When questioned, H T Mo stated that he was asked to obtain a forward position on EIGHT TRIGRAMS in accordance with the horse’s normal racing pattern. He said it was anticipated that SPARKLING DOLPHIN would also be ridden to obtain a forward position and he was told that if that horse showed superior speed to EIGHT TRIGRAMS, then it was acceptable for him to take a trailing position behind that horse. He said after EIGHT TRIGRAMS began well, he ensured that the horse was able to obtain a forward position. He said earlier in the race it became apparent to him that SPARKLING DOLPHIN was showing more speed than EIGHT TRIGRAMS and he was of the opinion that given the tempo of the race in the early stages, he would have had to ride his mount along somewhat to maintain his position outside SPARKLING DOLPHIN. He said given that his instructions were to take a trailing position if SPARKLING DOLPHIN showed speed, he elected to allow that horse to cross EIGHT TRIGRAMS after the 700 Metres and followed SPARKLING DOLPHIN in the middle stages. He added approaching the 600 Metres he shifted to the inside of SPARKLING DOLPHIN with a view to improving between that horse and NOBLE DESIRE. He said EIGHT TRIGRAMS was not able to quicken into the gap sufficiently, this resulted in the horse being disappointed for running between those horses as a result of NOBLE DESIRE shifting out. He said after this EIGHT TRIGRAMS had some difficulty obtaining clear running and because of this was not able to be fully tested. Mr D J Hall, the trainer of EIGHT TRIGRAMS, confirmed the instructions given to H T Mo. He said EIGHT TRIGRAMS had performed best when not having to be ridden too aggressively in the early stages to obtain a forward position. He said therefore in the circumstances he was satisfied with Jockey Mo’s decision to obtain a trailing position rather than continuing to maintain his position outside SPARKLING DOLPHIN.
When questioned, B Shinn stated that he was not under any specific instructions on how to ride INFINITY WIN other than to have the horse racing where it was comfortable. He said in the early stages INFINITY WIN did not show as much speed as AQUILA which was drawn to its outside. He said he therefore elected to shift across behind that horse and obtained a trailing position. He said as he was aware that AQUILA had not finished off its race at its most recent start, he elected to continue to shift out to follow CIRCUIT SPLENDOR as he believed that given the manner in which that horse had trialed in the lead up to today’s race, it would take him into the race. He said he therefore shifted out to follow CIRCUIT SPLENDOR near the 500 Metres and passing the 400 Metres INFINITY WIN was awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse as CIRCUIT SPLENDOR came under pressure much earlier in the race than he had envisaged. He added INFINITY WIN was then held up for clear running behind CIRCUIT SPLENDOR and after the 400 Metres had to be steadied as a result of being disappointed for running between CIRCUIT SPLENDOR which shifted in marginally when continuing to give ground and WONDERFUL HORSE which shifted out. He said after being disappointed for running outside WONDERFUL HORSE, he shifted INFINITY WIN in near the 300 Metres to obtain clear running.
After the race, J Moreira said he was unable to offer any explanation for the manner in which CIRCUIT SPLENDOR weakened over the latter stages of the race. He said after obtaining a forward position in the early stages, CIRCUIT SPLENDOR initially travelled satisfactorily, however, gave ground quickly after the 400 Metres. A veterinary inspection of CIRCUIT SPLENDOR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of FELIX THE KING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SPARKLING DOLPHIN and NOBLE DESIRE were sent for sampling.

Race:2 (206) CHEVALIER CAR DEALERSHIP HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 4 1600 m

DECISIVE ACTION was withdrawn on 26.11.21 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (blood abnormality) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter VIVA POPCORN (M Chadwick). Before being allowed to race again, DECISIVE ACTION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
GO GO SIXTEEN and BIG BROOK bumped at the start.
SUPER ELEGANCE began awkwardly and was then bumped by LEADING FORTUNE which shifted in.
VIVA POPCORN began only fairly.
From wide barriers, VITRALITE and FULL POWER were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching and passing the 1200 Metres, SMART FOLKS was awkwardly placed inside the heels of DARCI JOY (K C Leung) which shifted in when not quite clear. K C Leung was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
After the 1000 Metres, LEADING FORTUNE was left racing wide and without cover.
Passing the 800 Metres, GO GO SIXTEEN was taken wider and without cover by LIGHT OF WANSHI which shifted out away from the heels of SMART FOLKS to follow LEADING FORTUNE.
LIGHT OF WANSHI got its head on the side and lay out in the early part of the Straight.
When questioned, K C Leung stated that he was asked to ride DARCI JOY similarly to its last start, that is to have the horse positioned in advance of midfield if possible. He said it was felt that a number of horses drawn outside DARCI JOY would be ridden to take up a forward position and therefore he was asked to ride DARCI JOY positively in the early stages, clear runners to his inside and then allow them to cross DARCI JOY which would hopefully result in it being ridden in about 5th or 6th position. He said in accordance with his instructions he ensured DARCI JOY began positively and was able to clear SMART FOLKS near the 1200 Metres to obtain a position one horse off the rail. He said when only OSCAR GLORY and GOOD HEALTH improved their position forward of DARCI JOY, this resulted in DARCI JOY being slightly more forward than had been anticipated. He added nonetheless DARCI JOY travelled comfortably in the middle stages and then finished off the race well.
A veterinary inspection of GO GO SIXTEEN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
LIGHT OF WANSHI and DARCI JOY were sent for sampling.

Race:3 (207) CHEVALIER CONSTRUCTION HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 4 1200 m

AMAZEMENT was crowded for room on jumping between UTOPIA LIFE which shifted in after bumping EVERYONE’S VICTORY and HANDSOME REBEL which shifted out.
THIS IS GUTS began only fairly.
THUNDERSTRIKE shifted out at the start and bumped the hindquarters of JADE THEATRE. After this, from a wide barrier, despite being ridden along, JADE THEATRE failed to muster speed whilst THUNDERSTRIKE was also steadied to obtain cover.
Despite being ridden along for some distance in the early stages, STEEL WIN failed to muster speed and was shifted across behind runners from the outside barrier.
Approaching the 700 Metres, AMAZEMENT became unbalanced when crowded for room between HANDSOME REBEL which shifted out and EVERYONE’S VICTORY which got its head on the side and lay in despite the efforts of its rider.
After the 700 Metres, EVERYONE’S VICTORY was left racing wide and without cover.
Near the 50 Metres, UTOPIA LIFE shifted out under pressure and was awkwardly placed inside the heels of THUNDERSTRIKE.
Passing the winning post, STEEL WIN raced tight outside the hindquarters of JADE THEATRE.
After the race, B Shinn reported that THIS IS GUTS’ action deteriorated rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight and after this the horse did not stretch out. A veterinary inspection of THIS IS GUTS immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, THIS IS GUTS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of PACKING KINGDOM immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.
EVERYONE’S VICTORY and WHIZZ KID were sent for sampling.

Race:4 (208) CHEVALIER E & M ENGINEERING HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 5 1400 m

LUCKY MISSILE shifted in abruptly at the start and bumped LITTLE PLAYER which in turn shifted in and bumped SPEEDY DRAGON. SPEEDY DRAGON then became unbalanced and shifted in, resulting in KING’S TROOPER being hampered when taken in onto GOLDEN FOUR.
TELECOM ELITE began only fairly and then was awkwardly placed inside the heels of BRILLIANT CHINA which shifted in.
From wide barriers, VICTORIOUS LEADER, SUPER FLAMES and EVEN KEEL were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 1300 Metres, KING’S TROOPER was steadied away from the heels of SPEEDY DRAGON (H W Lai) which shifted in when not properly clear. H W Lai was reprimanded and told to ensure that he provides sufficient clearance in similar circumstances.
Approaching the 1000 Metres, SUPER FLAMES shifted out and was awkwardly placed inside the heels of BRAVE POWER.
After the 800 Metres, LITTLE PLAYER was awkwardly placed behind KING’S TROOPER.
SUPER FLAMES got its head on the side and made the Home Turn awkwardly.
Passing the 400 Metres, BRILLIANT CHINA was directed to the inside of SEA MONARCH in an attempt to improve inside that horse. Then for some distance after the 400 Metres, BRILLIANT CHINA raced tight inside the heels of SEA MONARCH when continuing to attempt to improve where there was not quite sufficient room. This resulted in BRILLIANT CHINA being steadied away from the heels of SEA MONARCH near the 200 Metres.
EVEN KEEL had some difficulty obtaining clear running approaching the 150 Metres.
Near the 150 Metres, TELECOM ELITE was shifted out away from the heels of SPEEDY DRAGON.
H W Lai (SPEEDY DRAGON) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 50 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in under pressure when not clear of SEA MONARCH, resulting in that horse being taken in onto BRILLIANT CHINA and causing both SEA MONARCH and BRILLIANT CHINA to be unnecessarily crowded for room and to lose the running to which they were rightfully entitled. In the circumstances, H W Lai was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Sunday, 12 December 2021 and to expire on Thursday, 16 December 2021 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays).
Throughout the race, SUPER KIN travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, J Moreira was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of KING’S TROOPER which he said failed to finish off the race after travelling satisfactorily throughout the middle stages. A veterinary inspection of KING’S TROOPER immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, KING’S TROOPER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of AUGUST MOON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
KING’S TROOPER, BRAVE POWER and VICTORIOUS LEADER were sent for sampling.

Race:5 (209) CHEVALIER ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 3 1200 m

NAVAS TWO began awkwardly and shifted out towards the heels of HIGH RISE SOLDIER, resulting in NAVAS TWO losing ground.
PRIME MINISTER began very awkwardly, shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of SOLID IMPACT, resulting in SOLID IMPACT becoming unbalanced and PRIME MINSTER losing ground.
Approaching the turn near the 900 Metres, HANDSOME TWELVE and PRIME MINISTER raced tight and then making the turn after the 900 Metres HANDSOME TWELVE shifted out and inconvenienced PRIME MINSTER.
Passing the 900 Metres, HIGH RISE SOLDIER was very awkwardly placed close to the heels of WAR OF COURAGE.
After the 800 Metres, PRIME MINISTER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SOLID IMPACT.
In the early part of the Straight, HANDSOME TWELVE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of FIVE ELEMENTS when being shifted to the outside of that horse to obtain clear running.
Near the 350 Metres, PRIME MINISTER was shifted out away from the heels of SOLID IMPACT which got its head on the side and shifted out away from HANDSOME TWELVE.
NAVAS TWO was steadied near the 300 Metres when disappointed for running between HIGH RISE SOLIDER and ELIGERE which shifted out. NAVAS TWO was then shifted to the inside of ELIGERE passing the 300 Metres and in doing so shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of SUPREME SUPREME which became unbalanced. NAVAS TWO was awkwardly placed behind ELIGERE approaching the 200 Metres as that horse shifted in. NAVAS TWO was then steadied over the concluding stages when unable to improve into tight running between ELIGERE and WAR OF COURAGE which shifted in. Because of this, NAVAS TWO was not able to be fully tested.
Throughout the race, WAR OF COURAGE travelled wide and without cover.
When questioned, J Moreira stated that he was issued with two sets of instructions depending on how FIVE ELEMENTS, from the outside barrier, began today. He said he was told that if FIVE ELEMENTS began well, to obtain a forward position and race outside the anticipated leader of the race CALIFORNIA CONCORD. He said alternatively he was told that if FIVE ELEMENTS did not begin well, he should attempt to obtain a position in midfield with cover if possible. He said FIVE ELEMENTS did not begin well and therefore he elected to attempt to obtain a position in midfield as he was of the opinion that to ride FIVE ELEMENTS along in the early stages would have taken too much out of the horse. He said when WAR OF COURAGE was being aggressively ridden to obtain a forward position, he steadied FIVE ELEMENTS passing the 1100 Metres and was hopeful of obtaining a position behind SOLID IMPACT and in front of PRIME MINISTER. He said after the 1100 Metres SOLID IMPACT was steadied by its rider to obtain a trailing position behind HIGH RISE SOLIDER and when PRIME MINISTER was ridden to maintain its position behind that horse, this resulted in FIVE ELEMENTS racing very wide and without cover outside SOLID IMPACT after the 1000 Metres. He added given the race was being run at a good tempo, it was not available to him to then ride FIVE ELEMENTS forward in an attempt to cross WAR OF COURAGE as he was positioned a number of lengths behind that horse. He said similarly he believed that it was not an option for him to steady FIVE ELEMENTS as he would have had to take the horse back to the rear of the field to obtain a position with cover behind PRIME MINISTER. He said therefore he was left with no alternative but to balance up FIVE ELEMENTS in an attempt to have the horse finish off the race as best as it was able given that it was required to race in a four wide position without cover throughout the race. A veterinary inspection of FIVE ELEMENTS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of SOLID IMPACT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
FIVE ELEMENTS, CALIFORNIA CONCORD and PRIME MINISTER were sent for sampling.

Race:6 (210) CHEVALIER HEALTHCARE INVESTMENT HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 4 1400 m

FASTER and SO AWESOME began only fairly.
BOOM STITCH began awkwardly and then from a wide barrier was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
HAPPY DAILY was also steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
MR ALDAN shifted out at the start and hampered BAEBAE TSOI.
BOYS PARTY shifted in at the start and bumped VUKAN.
KUNG FU TEA got its head up shortly after the start when being steadied to obtain cover.
MEGA BONUS made the turn near the 900 Metres awkwardly and got its head on the side and shifted out away from behind FLYING SWORD.
Also making the turn near the 900 Metres, KUNG FU TEA raced close to the heels of SIGHT SPIRIT.
Near the 650 Metres, TRONIC MIGHTY was momentarily crowded for room inside VOYAGE STAR which raced tight inside BOYS PARTY which shifted in before being directed out to relieve the crowding.
At the entrance to the Straight, BOYS PARTY was steadied when momentarily crowded for room between SIGHT SPIRIT which shifted in marginally and MEGA BONUS (V Borges) which shifted to the outside of FLYING SWORD. V Borges was reprimanded and told to exercise more care when shifting ground in similar circumstances. After this, BOYS PARTY gave ground. A veterinary inspection of BOYS PARTY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Approaching the 300 Metres, KUNG FU TEA was bumped by HAPPY DAILY which, when improving into tight running between TRONIC MIGHTY and MEGA BONUS, was taken out marginally by MEGA BONUS. In this incident, both HAPPY DAILY and KUNG FU TEA became unbalanced.
After the 300 Metres, BAEBAE TSOI got its head on the side and shifted out under pressure.
Throughout the race, BOYS PARTY travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, M L Yeung stated that TRONIC MIGHTY did not feel comfortable in its action during the race. A veterinary inspection of TRONIC MIGHTY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, TRONIC MIGHTY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of VOYAGE STAR immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.
A veterinary inspection of MEGA BONUS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SIGHT SPIRIT and FLYING SWORD were sent for sampling.

Race:7 (211) THE CHEVALIER CUP (HANDICAP) (Sec1) Class 1 1600 m

CIRCUIT THREE was slow to begin.
From a wide barrier, FAST MOST FURIOUS was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. When being steadied to obtain cover, FAST MOST FURIOUS, which was behind THE ROCK, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse.
After being ridden along in the early stages, THE ROCK was steadied for some distance after the 1400 Metres to obtain cover behind NOT USUAL TALENT.
At the entrance to the Straight, EXCELLENT PROPOSAL shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of BUDDIES when endeavouring to improve between that horse and KINGS SHIELD. After this, EXCELLENT PROPOSAL raced in restricted room as EXCELLENT PROPOSAL continued to attempt to establish running between those horses. Then after the 400 Metres, EXCELLENT PROPOSAL was checked and lost ground when unable to continue to improve between BUDDIES which shifted in as a result of becoming unbalanced due to being bumped by EXCELLENT PROPOSAL and KINGS SHIELD which, when commencing to give ground, shifted out marginally away from SILVER EXPRESS. As the Stewards were of the opinion that EXCELLENT PROPOSAL had not properly established running between KINGS SHIELD and BUDDIES, no further action was taken.
M Chadwick (BUDDIES) explained that after being led into the incorrect stall (8), he was distracted as a result of BUDDIES proving very fractious which resulted in the bit being dislodged from the horse’s mouth. He said because of this he was unaware that he had been led into the incorrect stall. BUDDIES was removed from the barriers, the bit was refitted and the horse was then loaded into the correct stall (6). Both M Chadwick and Mr A Speechley, the Starter, were reminded of the obligations on the respected parties to ensure that horses are led into the correct stall.
After the race, Z Purton reported that, in his opinion, LUCKY EXPRESS did not see out the 1600 Metres of today’s race. A veterinary inspection of LUCKY EXPRESS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of BUDDIES and KINGS SHIELD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SILVER EXPRESS and EXCELLENT PROPOSAL were sent for sampling.

Race:8 (212) CHEVALIER LIFTS & ESCALATORS HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 3 1600 m

KASI FARASI shifted out at the start and brushed FUNCTION PATCH.
From wide barriers, CHAMPION DRAGON, HIT THE SHOT and WINNING DRAGON were all steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
When being steadied to obtain cover, WINNING DRAGON shifted in passing the 1500 Metres and was awkwardly placed outside the heels of HIT THE SHOT.
PERFECT MARYKNOLL brushed the running rail approaching the 900 Metres and became unbalanced. PERFECT TO GREAT, which was following, was inconvenienced in consequence.
Passing the 900 Metres, FUNCTION PATCH raced close to the heels of XIANG YIN.
After the 900 Metres, KING TOURBILLON was left racing wide and without cover.
Approaching and passing the 700 Metres, FUNCTION PATCH raced tight between CHAMPION DRAGON and PERFECT TO GREAT which shifted out away from the heels of PERFECT MARYKNOLL.
Passing the 400 Metres, PACKING FAMOUS momentarily raced in restricted room between SUPER TEN and SOULMATE which, after laying out rounding the Home Turn, then shifted in marginally.
In the early part of the Straight, INTREPID WINNER lay in and proved reluctant to shift to the outside of runners to obtain clear running.
Also in the early part of the Straight, PERFECT TO GREAT lay in under pressure.
In the early part of the Straight, WINNING DRAGON was shifted out a number of horses to obtain clear running. WINNING DRAGON then got its head on the side and shifted out near the 100 Metres, resulting in HIT THE SHOT being inconvenienced.
A veterinary inspection of HIT THE SHOT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
XIANG YIN, SOULMATE and SUPER TEN were sent for sampling.

Race:9 (213) CHEVALIER PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT & OPERATIONS HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 3 1200 m

JAZZ ANGEL lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected and was slow to begin.
ELON shifted out at the start and bumped MAGIC SUPREME.
SPLENDID LIVING shifted out on jumping and bumped GREEN LASER. GREEN LASER was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
From the outside barriers, NORTHERN DRAGON and SUNSET WATCH were steadied shortly after the start to obtain cover.
Making the turn near the 700 Metres, SPLENDID LIVING shifted in and brushed the hindquarters of WHEN YOU BELIEVE.
Passing the 700 Metres, JAZZ ANGEL was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ELON when improving inside that horse.
Near the 600 Metres, NORTHERN DRAGON raced tight outside GREEN LASER which got its head on the side and lay out.
Near the 550 Metres, HARMONY SPIRIT improved to be racing tight inside the heels of SPLENDID LIVING. Then near the 500 Metres, SPLENDID LIVING shifted in marginally, resulting in HARMONY SPIRIT being taken in onto ELON which was momentarily crowded for room outside JAZZ ANGEL.
B Shinn (HARMONY SPIRIT) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 50 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when riding it along, resulting in GUNNISON being hampered when unnecessarily crowded for room inside HARMONY SPIRIT. In the circumstances, B Shinn was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 15 December 2021 and to expire on Sunday, 19 December 2021 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). In this incident, GUNNISON was struck across the nose by the whip of B Shinn.
After the 50 Metres, MAGIC SUPREME and WHEN YOU BELIEVE raced tight as a result of both horses shifting a minimal amount of ground.
After the finishing line, MAGIC SUPREME and WHEN YOU BELIEVE were crowded for room inside SUNNY BOY (C L Chau). C L Chau was spoken to regarding this incident and told to ensure that he makes every endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground whether it be prior to or after the end of the race.
Throughout the race, SPLENDID LIVING travelled wide and without cover.
M F Poon reported that SUNSHINE SUPREME was making an abnormal breathing noise after the race. A veterinary inspection of SUNSHINE SUPREME immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SUNNY BOY and WHEN YOU BELIEVE were sent for sampling.

Race:10 (214) CHEVALIER PROPERTY INVESTMENT HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 2 1400 m

C L Chau (IMA SINGLE MAN) was fined the sum of $3,000 for initially weighing out without a girth which required his saddle to be returned from the saddling area in order for him to be re-weighed.
AMAZING CHOCOLATE and SENOR TOBA were slow to begin.
REGENCY BO BO began awkwardly, shifted out and brushed BLAZE WARRIOR.
From the outside barrier, SEATTLE CHOICE was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
Despite being ridden along in the early stages, REGENCY BO BO failed to muster speed.
After the 1000 Metres, both MISTER SNOWDON and IMA SINGLE MAN were left racing wide and without cover.
Near the 900 Metres, MY SUGAR commenced to travel keenly and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of IGNITING.
Near the 350 Metres, MY SUGAR raced tight between HINCHINLOVE and IGNITING which shifted out under pressure.
Approaching the 300 Metres, KINDA COOL shifted out and brushed BLAZE WARRIOR.
Also approaching the 300 Metres, REGENCY BO BO got its head on the side and shifted out towards the heels of SEATTLE CHOICE. REGENCY BO BO was then steadied passing the 300 Metres when racing in restricted room between SEATTLE CHOICE and AMAZING CHOCOLATE which shifted out. After being shifted to the outside of SEATTLE CHOICE, REGENCY BO BO continued to lay out and momentarily raced tight inside the heels of SENOR TOBA near the 150 Metres.
When questioned, C L Chau (IMA SINGLE MAN) stated that he was instructed to obtain a trailing position behind the speed if possible. He said from a wide barrier it was felt that there would be runners better drawn than IMA SINGLE MAN which would lead and therefore it was hoped that he may be able to obtain a position with cover behind the speed. He said after steadying his mount passing the 1300 Metres and shifting IMA SINGLE MAN in behind HINCHINLOVE which was being ridden to obtain a forward position, he commenced to shift IMA SINGLE MAN across behind runners and had hoped to obtain a trailing position behind TEMPEST EXPRESS and outside BLAZE WARRIOR. He said as he was shifting IMA SINGLE MAN across to obtain a position behind TEMPEST EXPRESS, SEATTLE CHOICE was able to improve its position to race between BLAZE WARRIOR and IMA SINGLE MAN and this resulted in IMA SINGLE MAN not being able to obtain the position behind TEMPEST EXPRESS as he had hoped. He added although this was further back in the field than had been anticipated, given the circumstances of the race, he believed that obtaining the position behind TEMPEST EXPRESS would provide IMA SINGLE MAN with the best position in the race given the makeup of the field to that point. He said after SEATTLE CHOICE improved its position to race behind TEMPEST EXPRESS, IMA SINGLE MAN was left racing in a four wide position with cover behind MISTER SNOWDON, however, IMA SINGLE MAN was then left racing very wide and without cover after the 1000 Metres as TEMPEST EXPRESS shifted in to obtain a three wide position.
A veterinary inspection of MASTER MONTARO and MISTER SNOWDON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
BLAZE WARRIOR and MY SUGAR were sent for sampling.
