As PERFECT PEACH was shifted in in an endeavour to improve between H Z TOURBILLON and SPARTAN MISSILE near the 450 Metres, H Z TOURBILLON shifted out, resulting in PERFECT PEACH being steadied when disappointed for running.
After being taken wider by HERO STAR passing the 400 Metres, WINNING ICEY then made the Home Turn awkwardly.
Rounding the Home Turn, SPARTAN MISSILE was shifted out away from the heels of HOODABUTTA after being awkwardly placed behind that horse.
In the Straight, HERCULES (S De Sousa) lay in under pressure and near the 150 Metres S De Sousa momentarily dropped his right rein.
When questioned regarding the performance of HOODABUTTA which was having its first race start tonight, Z Purton stated that after being able to obtain a position in about midfield after the 1000 Metres, HOODABUTTA commenced to lay out along the Back Straight and then lay out noticeably after the 500 Metres. He said he rode HOODABUTTA along rounding the Home Turn, however, the horse continued to lay out and became very unbalanced in its action. He added that as HOODABUTTA was well beaten, he eased the horse down over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection of HOODABUTTA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, HOODABUTTA will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial around a bend.
After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on H Z TOURBILLON at the request of Trainer C S Shum. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, H Z TOURBILLON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of SPARTAN MISSILE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

He was of the opinion that SUPER VINCE would benefit from tonight’s race having in mind that the horse has not previously trialed at Happy Valley. A veterinary inspection of SUPER VINCE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of ELON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
VALIANT ELEGANCE and TRADER were sent for sampling.

Because of this incident, DAY DAY RICH raced back in the field tonight. After the race, L Currie stated that after being checked HANDSOME VEGGIE was reluctant to stride out throughout. A veterinary inspection of HANDSOME VEGGIE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Race:5 (15) CHUNG HOM KOK HANDICAP (Sec1) Class 4 1200 m

On arrival at the track, SIGHT HERO, which was fractious when being transported to Happy Valley, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.
HARMONY N HOME and UNITED ENDEAVORS were crowded for room on jumping between NOIR RIDER which shifted in marginally and HARDLY SWEARS which shifted out.
From the outside barriers, HAPPY SOUL and OUR CLASS ACT were shifted across behind runners in the early stages to obtain cover.
After initially being ridden along in the early stages, KOKUSHI MUSOU was steadied approaching the 1100 Metres in an endeavour to obtain cover, however, was left racing wide and without cover near the 900 Metres.
Making the turn near the 550 Metres, HARDLY SWEARS and HARMONY N HOME bumped.
H T Mo (UNITED ENDEAVORS) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that passing the 200 Metres he directed his mount to the inside of TAKE WHAT YOU NEED which resulted in NOIR RIDER being unnecessarily crowded for room and losing the running to which it was rightfully entitled. After considering submissions on penalty by Jockey Mo in respect of the imposition of any monetary penalty, the Stewards decided that Jockey Mo’s licence to ride in races would be suspended for a period to commence on Wednesday, 5 October 2022 and to expire on Thursday, 13 October 2022 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays).
When questioned, M F Poon stated that he was instructed to ride TRIPLE TRIPLE in about a midfield position tonight if possible. He said it was felt that horses drawn inside TRIPLE TRIPLE would all be ridden in the early stages to obtain a forward position and therefore he should shift his mount across to race behind those horses. He said after the 500 Metres TRIPLE TRIPLE was travelling strongly and therefore he attempted to shift to the outside of HARDLY SWEARS which he had followed in the middle stages. He said at the entrance to the Straight he believed the only run that was available to him to improve into was between SIGHT HERO and HARMONY N HOME. He said as HARMONY N HOME had shifted out at the entrance to the Straight, he therefore continued to direct TRIPLE TRIPLE out with a view to improving into this run, however, as he was doing this, the room between those horses closed, resulting in TRIPLE TRIPLE being held up for clear running behind SIGHT HERO. He added that he was then unable to shift to the inside of SIGHT HERO to improve to that horse’s inside passing the 200 Metres as OUR CLASS ACT had shifted out and obtained a run to the inside of TRIPLE TRIPLE. He said this resulted in TRIPLE TRIPLE being unable to obtain clear running until the concluding stages and accordingly not being able to be properly tested.
A veterinary inspection of KOKUSHI MUSOU immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of NOIR RIDER immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer’ which had previously been reported.
OUR CLASS ACT and HARDLY SWEARS were sent for sampling.

Race:6 (16) THE COMMUNITY CHEST CUP (HANDICAP) (Sec1) Class 4 1650 m

From wide barriers, SPARKY STAR, KUNGFUMASTER PANDA and VINCY were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion, RUN THE TABLE was awkwardly placed inside the heels of FLYING SILVER.
Approaching and passing the 1000 Metres, GO FOR TEA commenced to give ground and after the 900 Metres was eased down and retired out of the race. FEARLESS FIRE, which was following GO FOR TEA, was checked out away from the heels of that horse passing the 900 Metres and shifted out, resulting in SPARKY STAR being taken out. BIG TWO, which was following FEARLESS FIRE, was also shifted out to avoid GO FOR TEA which resulted in KUNGFUMASTER PANDA being bumped and taken wider. A veterinary inspection of GO FOR TEA immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm and to have bled from both nostrils. Before being allowed to race again, GO FOR TEA will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
At the 300 Metres, SUPER BUDDY raced tight outside FLYING SILVER.
After the 300 Metres, SPARKY STAR and KUNGFUMASTER PANDA bumped.
When questioned, L Hewitson stated that, from barrier 9, it was felt that if BIG TWO were to be ridden to obtain a forward position in the early stages, the horse may have too much to do and may not be able to obtain cover. He said as BIG TWO had previously performed well when ridden from off the speed and with cover, it was decided to shift the horse across behind runners tonight to ensure that BIG TWO was able to obtain a trail. He said BIG TWO travelled well until after the 600 Metres, however, when placed under pressure failed to respond as it had previously when ridden by him and, in his opinion, was disappointing in tonight’s race. A veterinary inspection of BIG TWO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
BIG TWO, AMAZING BOY and RUN THE TABLE were sent for sampling.

After the race, L Currie reported that he was given two sets of instructions on how to ride RED MAJESTY tonight, namely that if RED MAJESTY began well, he should ride the horse in a forward position, however, if RED MAJESTY did not begin satisfactorily, he should steady his mount and obtain cover from a wide barrier. He said on jumping RED MAJESTY got its head up on a number of occasions and as LOYAL BABY to its outside began better than RED MAJESTY, he elected to shift RED MAJESTY across behind runners.
A veterinary inspection of NOTHING NEW, VIVA HUNTER and LOYAL BABY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
NEARLY FINE and PACKING FAMOUS were sent for sampling.
<15/9/2022 Additional Veterinary Reports>LOYAL BABY, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. LOYAL BABY was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer F C Lor this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Passing the 300 Metres, BEAUTY GLORY and XPONENTIAL raced tight as BEAUTY GLORY shifted to the outside of MAGIC PHOENIX to obtain clear running.
NICCONI COUNTY was not able to obtain clear running until the concluding stages and accordingly was not able to be properly tested.
After the race, A Badel stated that after being ridden along in the early stages to obtain a forward position, PING HAI GALAXY travelled comfortably in the early stages and he felt that as he had not done too much work on the horse PING HAI GALAXY would finish the race off in the Straight. He said however that PING HAI GALAXY came under heavy pressure passing the 400 Metres and then gave ground abruptly in the early part of the Straight to finish at the rear of the field. A veterinary inspection of PING HAI GALAXY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of PING HAI GALAXY, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, PING HAI GALAXY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of CELTIC TIMES immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
