MIGHTY STRIDE was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight.
Approaching the 200 Metres, ICE LEGEND was directed to the inside of VICTORY SCHOLARS to improve into a tight run which was available between that horse and I GIVE. As ICE LEGEND was improving towards the heels of VICTORY SCHOLARS, that horse shifted in marginally which resulted in ICE LEGEND racing tight inside the heels of VICTORY SCHOLARS passing the 200 Metres. ICE LEGEND was then crowded for room outside I GIVE which shifted out after the 200 Metres. As ICE LEGEND continued to improve to the inside of VICTORY SCHOLARS, ICE LEGEND got its head on the side and lay in away from that horse which resulted in I GIVE being checked near the 150 Metres. As there were a number of circumstances which resulted in this incident, no further action was taken.
When questioned, M Chadwick stated that, from barrier 4, it was hoped that SUPER SUNNY SING would be able to obtain a position in advance of midfield without having to be ridden along to do so. He said he was asked not to pressure SUPER SUNNY SING too much in the early stages as the horse had not previously finished its races off when ridden in this manner. He said SUPER SUNNY SING began well in today’s race and he initially obtained a position behind VICTORY SCHOLARS. He said SUPER SUNNY SING was reluctant to hold its position in the early stages and despite him niggling at this mount, he was unable to prevent BEAUTY MISSION from crossing SUPER SUNNY SING after the 1100 Metres. He said although he had been instructed not to make too much use of SUPER SUNNY SING, he was concerned that the horse was getting out of its ground and therefore he continued to niggle at his mount after the 1100 Metres in an endeavour to remain racing behind BEAUTY MISSION. He said SUPER SUNNY SING did not respond to his riding which resulted in HOSS being able to cross to race behind BEAUTY MISSION prior to the 900 Metres. He added that after racing much further back in the field than had been intended, SUPER SUNNY SING then finished the race off strongly over the latter stages.
A veterinary inspection of I GIVE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
ICE LEGEND, MIGHTY STRIDE and SUPER SUNNY SING were sent for sampling.

He said whilst ERIMO had previously carried weight in some of its races, that was in Class 4. He said he was of the view that the horse was not able to finish the race off today when carrying top weight in Class 3. A veterinary inspection of ERIMO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
