11 1 GO GO GO (H196) Z Purton When questioned, Z Purton stated that after settling back in the field, he was unable to proceed forward in the early part of the Home Straight when positioned behind COMPULSORY. He said as a result he elected to endeavour to obtain a narrow run between GENERAL WINNER and MASTER OF LUCK approaching the 250 Metres, but then was badly held up until near the 200 Metres where it made contact with MASTER OF LUCK. He added between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres he was then crowded when GENERAL WINNER (A Atzeni) shifted out whilst being ridden along. A Atzeni was advised to exercise more care. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

5 3 RATTAN WORLD (G384) B Avdulla Slow to begin.
9 4 SUPER CONTENTED (H251) K H Chan (-5) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 1200 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied to avoid the heels of GREAT BRILLIANT when that runner was shifted in. Near the 900 Metres was briefly crowded by TSUEN WAN GLORY. Passing the 200 Metres was directed to the outside of TSUEN WAN GLORY to continue into clear running.
6 5 TSUEN WAN GLORY (E403) A Badel In the middle stages raced keenly and near the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied to avoid the heels of MASTER OF LUCK. Trainer K L Man confirmed that from a wide barrier he had instructed A Badel to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages as TSUEN WAN GLORY had disappointed at its most recent starts when ridden in a more forward position.
12 6 YOO YOO KNIGHT (H053) C L Chau (-2) After the race, C L Chau reported that his mount raced keenly in the early stages when left without cover, lay out making the Home Turn and as a result was left without a finishing effort. 7 3 VALIANT ELEGANCE (D285) A Hamelin Shortly after the start shifted out and got its head up when being corrected by its rider A Hamelin. Approaching the 350 Metres was steadied away from HAYDAY, shifted out and bumped heavily.
3 4 GANGNAM STAR (H326) M Chadwick After being shifted to the inside near the 300 Metres to obtain clear running then raced greenly and proved difficult to ride out.
13 5 GRAND CONQUEROR (H469) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by GUSTY FIGHTER which shifted out. Approaching the 350 Metres HAYDAY shifted out and away from LOYAL BO BO when LOYAL BO BO shifted out before being corrected by its rider Z Purton. As a result, HAYDAY then shifted out further, resulting in VALIANT ELEGANCE, which was positioned close to the heels of HAYDAY, then being taken out abruptly and bumping heavily with ISLAND BRIGHT, resulting in ISLAND BRIGHT being taken out further, causing GRAND CONQUEROR to be checked when crowded between ISLAND BRIGHT and GOLDEN CHAMPION. The Stewards found that the racing manners of HAYDAY were the significant contributor to the interference being caused.
6 6 GUSTY FIGHTER (J029) B Avdulla No report.
4 7 LOYAL BO BO (J011) Z Purton After blundering approaching the 200 Metres then lay out under pressure to the finish of the event. After the race, Z Purton stated that his mount travelled satisfactorily in an on-pace position, but when asked for an effort from the 400 Metres did not respond to his riding as strongly as he had anticipated and finished the race off only fairly. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY QUALITY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. 5 3 TOGEPI (G458) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly and then blundered shortly after the start.
10 4 RED DESERT (C287) B Avdulla After the race, B Avdulla stated that his mount travelled satisfactorily behind the leaders throughout the early stages. He said on the Home Turn RED DESERT came under pressure before weakening in the Home Straight. Trainer J Size advised that RED DESERT had pleased him since its last start win on 25 October 2023, barrier trialed well on 14 November 2023 and could offer no excuse for today’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance was considered to be disappointing as compared to its previous starts. Before being allowed to race again, RED DESERT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
8 5 COLOURFUL PRINCE (E418) K De Melo A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. 3 8 LEAN MASTER (H134) Y L Chung (-5) When questioned regarding his mount leading, Apprentice Y L Chung stated that from the inside barrier he was instructed to lead on LEAN MASTER and as a consequence he rode his mount along in the early stages to comply with his instructions. Trainer C H Yip stated that with blinkers on today, from the inside barrier and having its first start on the All Weather surface and with the apprentice claim, he had instructed Apprentice Chung to lead on the horse. He stated that such instructions were issued as LEAN MASTER had also performed well when ridden in a forward position in a barrier trial on 14 November 2023.

4 1 INVINCIBLE MISSILE (C037) E C W Wong (-10) Slow to begin.
11 2 IMPERIAL MAGEE (E460) J McDonald Passing the 1000 Metres raced in restricted room between CHATEAU and SUPER WISE DRAGON which shifted out slightly after being crossed by LUCKY ETERNITY. Near the 50 Metres was steadied when crowded between CASA COSMO and MASTER HERO which shifted out. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
8 3 MASTER HERO (D501) Y L Chung (-5) When questioned, Apprentice Y L Chung confirmed his instructions were to lead today, but despite being ridden along in the early stages did not show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position. When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight and the reason he elected to shift to the outside of CHATEAU near the 350 Metres, Apprentice Chung stated that as he was aware that IMPERIAL MAGEE, which had been positioned to his outside, had raced wide and without cover and he was anticipating that horse to give ground when placed under pressure in the Home Straight and for this reason he committed to improving to the outside of CHATEAU. He added as he shifted to the outside of CHATEAU passing the 350 Metres, IMPERIAL MAGEE shifted in slightly which resulted in the run between CHATEAU and IMPERIAL MAGEE closing and MASTER HERO was then held up for clear running between the 300 Metres and the 50 Metres when it was unable to proceed between those two runners. He further stated that whilst he was aware that a run had commenced to develop to the inside of CHATEAU, he felt that shifting to the outside would have provided his mount with a better chance to secure clear running at that point. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
10 4 CASA COSMO (G436) K C Leung From the 350 Metres until the 250 Metres was bumped on the hindquarters by SUPER WISE DRAGON on a number of occasions.
5 5 WINNING STEPS (G420) Z Purton No report.
6 6 CHATEAU (H214) A Badel When questioned regarding CHATEAU racing in a more forward position, A Badel stated that from a wide barrier he was instructed to hold a three wide position with cover if possible, however, was given the option to go forward if circumstances permitted. He added that when caught wide in the early stages and with cover not being available, he then allowed CHATEAU to stride forward and took up a position outside the lead. Trainer J Size confirmed the instructions issued.
2 7 LUCKY ETERNITY (G478) M Chadwick Sent for sampling post-race.
13 9 GO GO SIXTEEN (E244) C L Chau (-2) Slow to begin.
1 10 MISTER DAPPER (H376) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly. Sent for sampling post-race.
12 11 NINJA DERBY (H339) L Hewitson Jumped awkwardly.
9 12 SUPER WISE DRAGON (G475) C Y Ho When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight and as to whether there was an opportunity to improve to the outside of IMPERIAL MAGEE sooner than he attempted, C Y Ho stated that after following CHATEAU, he was racing to the inside of the heels of IMPERIAL MAGEE and as a result was unable to shift out. He said after the 400 Metres he steadied his mount slightly so that he could shift to the outside of IMPERIAL MAGEE, but as he attempted to obtain that run, IMPERIAL MAGEE shifted out slightly which resulted in his mount making contact with CASA COSMO near the 350 Metres, causing SUPER WISE DRAGON to be badly held up when disappointed for clear running between the 350 Metres and the 200 Metres before being able to shift to the outside to secure clear running. Trainer W Y So confirmed that with SUPER WISE DRAGON stepping up in distance today and from a wide barrier, he had instructed C Y Ho to take up a more forward position on the horse.
3 13 JOYFUL PROSPERITY (H213) A Hamelin Near the 400 Metres when being shifted to the outside to improve shifted out and made contact with SHARPEN BRIGHT.
7 14 SHARPEN BRIGHT (H276) B Avdulla Bumped near the 400 Metres.
WX-A 8 DELAGO PATROL (H236) M L Yeung Whilst proceeding to the Start became fractious, resulting in its rider, M L Yeung, dismounting from the horse. DELAGO PATROL was then withdrawn by order of the Stewards when it was unable to be taken to the Start. Before being allowed to race again, DELAGO PATROL will be required to undertake a parade test.

2 7 CELTIC TIMES (G230) M Chadwick Sent for sampling post-race.
14 8 STERLING WONGCHOY (H273) L Ferraris From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Raced keenly in the early stages and approaching the 1100 Metres was steadied away from SUNLIGHT POWER.
13 9 SUNLIGHT POWER (H244) K C Leung In the middle stages raced keenly and for some distance after the 900 Metres was steadied away from YOUNG HORIZON. From the 550 Metres was held up for clear running and near the 450 Metres shifted to the outside of YOUNG HORIZON to secure clear running and in doing so bumped ENDEARED. Apprentice Y L Chung (BEATO) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that after improving into a narrow run to the inside of SUPER LEGENDS passing the 250 Metres, he allowed his mount to shift out, resulting in SUPER LEGENDS being taken out across the running of YOUNG HORIZON, resulting in YOUNG HORIZON being unnecessarily crowded and steadied and YOUNG HORIZON then being taken out, causing SUNLIGHT POWER to be checked away from the heels of YOUNG HORIZON. Apprentice Chung was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 6 December 2023 and to expire on Monday, 11 December 2023 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). In addition, Apprentice Chung was fined $60,000. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

12 13 SONIC BOOM (H144) A Hamelin No report.
8 14 YOUNG HORIZON (G272) C Y Ho Raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages. Passing the 250 Metres was steadied when crowded. When questioned, C Y Ho stated that his instructions were to hold a forward position but not to make use of his mount to do so as at its last start YOUNG HORIZON had not finished the race off strongly when ridden in this manner. He said in the early stages when positioned to the outside of SUPER LEGENDS, he elected not to ride his mount forward to cross that runner as he was mindful of his instructions. He said he then endeavoured to obtain a position behind SUPER LEGENDS near the 1200 Metres, but when MR ALADDIN improved to his inside, he was then unable to shift in which resulted in YOUNG HORIZON being obliged to race wide and without cover for the remainder of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

8 1 RED LION (H115) Z Purton After the 700 Metres commenced to race keenly when HAPPY TOGETHER improved to its outside and as a result was steadied away from the heels of BOURBONAIRE and shifted out. 11 1 FLAMING RABBIT (H257) E C W Wong (-10) When questioned regarding the tactics adopted, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that he was instructed to lead on his mount if possible, but not to engage in a speed battle with the other expected leader DROMBEG BANNER. He said after riding his mount along in the early stages, he was able to hold an advantage over IMA SINGLE MAN, but near the 1200 Metres he relaxed on his mount as he felt that he would be able to cross IMA SINGLE MAN without having to continue to pressure his mount. He added when IMA SINGLE MAN held its position to his inside and DROMBEG BANNER improved to his outside, he then allowed DROMBEG BANNER to cross his mount so that he did not have to unnecessarily pressure FLAMING RABBIT through that section of the race. The Stewards advised Apprentice Wong that he had made an error of judgement in that near the 1200 Metres he did not continue to ride his mount forward which would have allowed FLAMING RABBIT to cross and lead on the rail in the early stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
3 2 DANCING CODE (G365) C Y Ho Passing the 1100 Metres was attempted to be shifted behind SUPERB BOY to obtain cover, but became awkwardly placed on the heels of that runner and was then obliged to race wide and without cover thereafter.

6 4 ALACRITY (H210) Z Purton After travelling a short distance was crowded for room. Near the 900 Metres was steadied away from DANCING CODE. After the race, Z Purton stated that his mount was disadvantaged by the pace steadying in the middle stages and by having to make a wide run in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
4 5 BEAUTY LIVE (G057) K C Leung Crowded shortly after the start.
1 6 DROMBEG BANNER (H117) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.

8 8 IMA SINGLE MAN (D476) Y L Chung (-5) No report.
10 9 SUPREME LUCKY (G457) J McDonald Bumped shortly after the start. After the race, J McDonald stated that whilst his mount was obliged to race three wide, it had cover behind DANCING CODE. He said from the 600 Metres SUPREME LUCKY was under pressure and was disappointing in its failure to finish the race off. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance was considered to be disappointing as compared to its most recent starts. Before being allowed to race again, SUPREME LUCKY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
7 10 CHING (G380) L Hewitson Crowded shortly after the start.

13 3 ABSOLUTE SUNSHINE (H342) K Teetan From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 250 Metres, K Teetan momentarily lost control of his whip before quickly regathering it.
9 4 POWERFUL WINGS (G225) M F Poon (-2) Bumped on the hindquarters after the 250 Metres and became unbalanced. After the race, M F Poon reported that his mount jumped awkwardly and as a result settled further back than what he had been instructed.
12 5 SPEED DRAGON (H380) A Atzeni From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages, but was unable to obtain cover and as a result raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. After the 250 Metres BEAUTY FIT (A Hamelin) shifted to the outside of CAPITAL LEGEND to secure clear running, resulting in ROMANTIC CHARM being taken out and making contact with MARADO which resulted in MARADO being taken out further onto POWERFUL WINGS and SPEED DRAGON, which lay in, having to be steadied after bumping with POWERFUL WINGS and becoming unbalanced. A Hamelin was advised to exercise more care. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 6 ROMANTIC CHARM (H227) J McDonald Crowded after the 250 Metres.
5 7 MASTER OF FORTUNE (G474) Z Purton Bumped at the start. Near the 1400 Metres BEAUTY FIT shifted in and away from MARADO (C L Chau) after initially being taken in by that runner, resulting in MASTER OF FORTUNE being steadied and shifted in when momentarily crowded, crowding the running of BEAUTYVERSE. C L Chau was advised to exercise more care. When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight, Z Purton stated that having regard to the pattern of racing, his preference was to obtain a run to the inside in the Home Straight. He said after having to improve to the outside of BEAUTYVERSE on the Home Turn, he then was obliged to attempt to secure clear running wider on the track between POWERFUL WINGS and SPEED DRAGON, but approaching the 250 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between those runners. He added as a result he then shifted MASTER OF FORTUNE to the inside where he was able to commence riding his mount along, but near the 100 Metres he improved into a narrow run to the inside of CAPITAL LEGEND and as a result was not able to fully test his mount for a number of strides thereafter when he was concerned that he may cause interference to FLAMINGO TRILLION which was positioned directly to his inside. He further stated that after fully establishing clear running, he was able to recommence riding his mount out to the finish of the event. In the circumstances, the Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Purton were reasonable, however, he was advised, wherever possible, he should fully test his mounts out to the finish of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
3 8 BEAUTY FIT (E279) A Hamelin After the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of CAPITAL LEGEND.
14 9 SOLAR GOGO (H390) K De Melo From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
