He added that in the Home Straight KING INVINCIBLE failed to respond to his riding. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.

9 10 THE GOOD DEAL (G025) B Thompson Approaching the 250 Metres became held up for clear running behind MULTIMORE which was giving ground and did not obtain clear running until the 150 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 11 GREAT DAYS (H119) A Hamelin Near the 300 Metres was bumped. After the race, A Hamelin reported that his mount raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages and was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils. Before being allowed to race again, GREAT DAYS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
7 12 HAPPILY FRIENDS (C533) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly and then was briefly crowded shortly after the start.
WV-A 9 GOOD VIEW GLORY (H154) Z Purton On arrival at the Start, Z Purton expressed concern with the horse’s action. GOOD VIEW GLORY was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse was lame in its left front leg and as such was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, GOOD VIEW GLORY was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, GOOD VIEW GLORY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
WV RATTAN WORLD (G384) K De Melo Withdrawn on 18.5.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter MULTIMORE. Before being allowed to race again, RATTAN WORLD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. The performance of SAKEWIN, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SAKEWIN will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

6 4 MIGHTY STRENGTH (H450) A Hamelin Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching the 900 Metres after improving to the inside of HAPPY FOR ALL (K C Leung) was then steadied when crowded by that runner. K C Leung was advised to exercise more care.
2 5 SUPER INFINITY (J320) Z Purton Jumped only fairly. After the 1000 Metres commenced to race keenly after being crossed by HAPPY FOR ALL and was steadied away from the heels of that runner. After the 400 Metres was shifted to the outside of HAPPY FOR ALL to obtain clear running. Sent for sampling post-race.
9 6 TAIHANG SCENERY (J314) C L Chau (-2) After the race, C L Chau reported that in the early stages his mount, after jumping well, raced keenly and as a result he was obliged to allow TAIHANG SCENERY to hold a more forward position. He added that as a result TAIHANG SCENERY was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

3 10 HAPPY FOR ALL (H181) K C Leung After the 400 Metres was held up for clear running behind TAIHANG SCENERY and shifted to that runner’s inside after the 350 Metres to obtain clear running. M L Yeung (SKY SONG) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 200 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of HAPPY FOR ALL, resulting in HAPPY FOR ALL being checked and losing its running. M L Yeung was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Sunday, 26 May 2024 and to expire on Thursday, 30 May 2024 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 1 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his poor race riding record. Noted to have lost its left front plate after the race.
5 11 SKY SONG (J159) M L Yeung After the race, M L Yeung reported that his mount jumped well today and as a consequence settled in a more forward position. M L Yeung was found guilty of a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 200 Metres (see HAPPY FOR ALL).

WV 3 CAMP FIRE (J259) L Hewitson Was a late withdrawal acting on veterinary advice after sustaining a head injury in the stables and being found to have blood present at the left nostril. An endoscopic examination conducted on CAMP FIRE found that there was no blood in its trachea and therefore the horse was deemed not to have bled. Before being allowed to race again, CAMP FIRE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea.

WV-A 1 YOUNG BRILLIANT (H135) E C W Wong (-7) After being placed in the starting stalls reared and became cast underneath the stalls for some time. Acting on veterinary advice that YOUNG BRILLIANT was not suitable to race, the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Was subsequently found to be lame in its left hind leg with multiple lacerations to its legs. Before being allowed to race again, YOUNG BRILLIANT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Subsequently Apprentice E C W Wong was examined by the Chief Medical Officer and passed fit to fulfil his remaining race riding engagements.

13 3 D STAR (G374) Y L Chung (-3) At declaration time, Y L Chung was declared as the rider of both D STAR and SUPER LEGENDS. It was established that Y L Chung had a firm commitment to ride D STAR. As such, the Stewards permitted H Bowman to be substituted as the rider of SUPER LEGENDS. For this declaration error, Y L Chung was fined $2,000.
12 4 CELTIC TIMES (G230) K Teetan Jumped only fairly. After the race, K Teetan reported that his mount would prefer a firmer surface. Trainer W K Mo agreed with the assessment of Jockey Teetan. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

14 6 WINNING TURN (J163) M F Poon (-2) Lay out making the Home Turn and near the 500 Metres was steadied away from STRATHPEFFER.
4 7 LUCKY TOUCH (J203) Z Purton When questioned, Z Purton stated that his intention was to hold a more forward position, but LUCKY TOUCH was slightly fractious in the barriers and then was slow to begin and as a result settled towards the rear of the field. He said making the Home Turn he commenced to improve into the event and after shifting to the inside of CELTIC TIMES near the 400 Metres he placed his mount under pressure. He added that approaching the 300 Metres he was disappointed for clear running between ISLAND GOLDEN and GOLDEN DARCI which shifted in and as a result directed his mount to that runner’s outside. He further stated that between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres he was unable to obtain clear running when improving into a narrow run between GOLDEN DARCI and FOOLISH HEART which was giving ground. He said approaching the 50 Metres he then directed his mount to the outside of MISSION VOICE to continue into clear running.

The performance of LOYAL BO BO was considered to be disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, LOYAL BO BO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

10 12 STELLAR SWIFT (J139) A Atzeni After the race, A Atzeni reported that his mount commenced only fairly and failed to show sufficient pace in the early stages to hold a more forward position.
2 13 SUNLIGHT POWER (H244) H Bentley Became unbalanced on jumping when bumped by SKY HEART which shifted out. Held up for clear running from the 400 Metres when it hung in and proved reluctant to shift to the outside of PATCH OF THETA and as a result did not obtain clear running until near the 100 Metres. When improving into a narrow run between CHIU CHOW SPIRIT and PATCH OF THETA near the 100 Metres shifted out and made contact with CHIU CHOW SPIRIT. After the race, H Bentley reported that his mount raced keenly in the early stages and hung in throughout the event. Sent for sampling post-race.
