8 1 DAN ATTACK (H317) H Bowman Shortly after the start was bumped. After the event, H Bowman stated that he was given no specific instructions. He said in the early stages when caught wide he elected to continue forward to take up a position outside the lead to avoid covering additional ground. He added that due to the wide barrier and having to make use of his mount to go forward the horse did not finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. <23/1/2025 Additional Veterinary Report>DAN ATTACK, which performed disappointingly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. DAN ATTACK was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer J Richards this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to ace again, DAN ATTACK will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
10 2 WOOD ON FIRE (C460) H T Mo (-2) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. After the event, H T Mo reported that he was given no specific instructions but had expected to race in a more forward position. He said WOOD ON FIRE failed to show sufficient pace to do so and as a result settled further back than intended.

3 4 DAY DAY VICTORY (J423) L Hewitson Shifted out after the 600 Metres and was bumped. Near the 250 Metres was eased and shifted to the outside of DAN ATTACK to obtain clear running.

6 6 TIMESTORM (G109) B Avdulla Near the 550 Metres was steadied to avoid GORGEOUS VITALITY.

7 8 GORGEOUS VITALITY (G051) L Ferraris Bumped at the start. Leaving the 600 Metres was bumped and became unbalanced. Near the 550 Metres was then steadied when crowded between STRIVE FOR GLORY which shifted in and away from DAN ATTACK and PHILOS which was taken out by PLENTIFUL. After the event, L Ferraris reported that after being crowded leaving the 600 Metres GORGEOUS VITALITY lost momentum and did not finish the race off after that. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

12 10 PHILOS (H371) Y L Chung (-3) Slow to begin. In the early stages raced keenly and leaving the 600 Metres lay out and made contact with GORGEOUS VITALITY. A short distance later PHILOS was then crowded between GORGEOUS VITALITY and PLENTIFUL which shifted out slightly when being eased to allow SPEEDY FORTUNE to cross.
5 11 YOO YOO KNIGHT (H053) K C Leung Bumped at the start. Near the 150 Metres was eased and shifted to the inside of WIND SPEEDER to continue into clear running when WIND SPEEDER shifted in slightly.

11 3 BEAUTY THUNDER (J299) M Chadwick On jumping shifted in and was then bumped by THE DOUBLE EAGLE which shifted out. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 250 Metres was inconvenienced when taken out slightly by ICONICAL which shifted out. After the event, M Chadwick reported that with the early stages of the event being run inside of standard time his mount did not travel well and as a result settled back in the field. He said in the Home Straight BEAUTY THUNDER finished the race off only fairly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
8 4 JUDY'S GREAT (J016) H T Mo (-2) In the middle stages raced keenly and for some distance near the 800 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from BULB EMPEROR. Again near the 600 Metres JUDY’S GREAT was steadied to avoid BULB EMPEROR and as a result shifted out and made contact with GOLDEN EMPIRE. For a short distance near the 100 Metres raced tight when improving between LEAN MASTER and BULB EMPEROR. After the event, H T Mo reported that his mount made an abnormal respiratory noise during the running of the race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 5 PRIME MORTAR (G328) Y L Chung (-3) Approaching the 1000 Metres was bumped by ACCOLADE START which shifted in, resulting in PRIME MORTAR becoming unbalanced. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Sent for sampling post-race.
7 6 ACCOLADE START (H331) A Badel A Badel pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference making the turn near the 1000 Metres (see SOLAR UP). Over the concluding stages lay in, resulting in its rider A Badel having to stop riding and straighten. As a consequence, ACCOLADE START could not be ridden out to the finish of the event.

12 8 THE DOUBLE EAGLE (J342) M L Yeung Shifted out at the start and was bumped. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event and making the turn near the 600 Metres lay out and made that turn wider. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 9 BRAVE OF FRIENDS (J382) H Bentley Jumped only fairly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Over the concluding stages raced tight to the inside of ACCOLADE START.

3 11 DRACO (J115) K C Leung On jumping was crowded by LEAN MASTER which shifted in. After the event, K C Leung stated that from an outside barrier, when caught wide in the early stages, he elected to continue forward to avoid racing wide. He said as a result DRACO settled a little more forward than what had been expected.
5 12 SOLAR UP (J134) K Teetan On jumping was crowded by PRIME MORTAR which shifted in. A Badel (ACCOLADE START) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that making the turn near the 1000 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in and make contact with PRIME MORTAR, resulting in PRIME MORTAR being taken in onto SOLAR UP, resulting in SOLAR UP losing its rightful running and being checked. A Badel was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 12 February 2025 at Sha Tin. In addition, Jockey Badel was fined $17,500. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 3 and also considered his very good race riding record.

7 2 GAMEPLAYER ELITE (H356) H Bowman Shifted in at the start, was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced. In the early stages over-raced and making the first turn near the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied in an attempt to obtain cover. Near the 300 Metres made contact with SOVEREIGN FUND which shifted out slightly.
6 3 OUR LUCKY GLORY (G292) H Bentley Jumped only fairly. Making the first turn near the 1000 Metres was steadied to avoid CRYSTAL POWERFUL and shifted out. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
11 4 SOVEREIGN FUND (J402) K C Leung Bumped shortly after the start. Near the 1000 Metres was checked when crowded between GAMEPLAYER ELITE and SANTORINI which shifted out. Shifted out slightly near the 300 Metres and was bumped. Over the final 50 Metres could not be ridden out to the finish when improving into a narrow run between CRYSTAL POWERFUL and GAMEPLAYER ELITE which shifted in.
2 5 HAYDAY (H321) M Chadwick Over the final 150 Metres lay out under pressure resulting in its rider M Chadwick having to stop riding and straighten his mount approaching the 50 Metres and again approaching the winning post. Sent for sampling post-race.
12 6 BITS SUPERSTAR (J362) A Hamelin In the early stages raced keenly and making the first turn was taken wider by GAMEPLAYER ELITE. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
3 7 FORTUNE WHISKEY (J153) M F Poon Ove the final 50 Metres raced tight between SPIRIT OF PEACE and HAYDAY, both of which shifted ground.
4 8 GOLDEN FRIENDSHIP (K106) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly and then was crowded between HAYDAY and GOLDEN LUCK, both of which shifted ground.
10 9 SANTORINI (J076) K Teetan Shifted out at the start, was bumped and became unbalanced. A short distance later was then steadied when crowded by FORTUNE WHISKEY which shifted out despite the efforts of its rider. Making the first turn near the 1000 Metres was checked when crowded between SPIRIT OF PEACE and OUR LUCKY GLORY which shifted out when being steadied away from CRYSTAL POWERFUL when that runner was eased to avoid HAYDAY (M Chadwick) which shifted in when not quite clear. M Chadwick was advised to exercise more care and to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground. After the event, K Teetan stated that as his mount was having its first race start at Happy Valley he was asked to settle the horse where comfortable and not to make use of it to hold a position. He said as a result SANTORINI settled in a midfield position in the early stages. Trainer F C Lor confirmed the instructions issued.

8 11 DECRELOT (J551) B Thompson Shorty after the start was checked when crowded between GAMEPLAYER ELITE which shifted in slightly and SOVEREIGN FUND which was taken out by SANTORINI when that runner shifted out. After improving to the inside of SANTORINI approaching the 1000 Metres was then steadied shortly after when SANTORINI was checked.
9 12 CRYSTAL POWERFUL (H068) A Atzeni After the event, A Atzeni stated that after enjoying a comfortable run behind the lead CRYSTAL POWERFUL failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and raced in a disappointing manner. 6 2 THESIS (H111) A Badel From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Leaving the 900 Metres was taken wider by AMAZING AWARD which shifted out to obtain a trailing position behind BEAUTY ALLIANCE. In this incident, THESIS was bumped by AMAZING AWARD and then raced wide and without cover from that point.
10 3 PRINCE ALEX (G307) H Bentley After the event, H Bentley reported that after obtaining a trailing position behind SKY VINO he was unable to improve approaching the 500 Metres and as a result his mount lost momentum during that section of the race. He said as PRINCE ALEX is somewhat one-paced, it then took some time to respond to his riding in the Home Straight when placed under pressure. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

9 6 AMAZING RUN (H401) H Bowman From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
3 7 SKY VINO (K054) M L Yeung Jumped awkwardly and shifted in abruptly, resulting in its rider M L Yeung becoming unbalanced. When questioned, M L Yeung stated that after responding to his riding in the early part of the Home Straight he felt that his mount became one-paced near the 200 Metres. He said as a result he elected to change his whip from his left to his right hand but as he did so his whip became caught in his gloves and as a result he had difficulty pulling it through to his right hand for some distance thereafter which prevented him from fully testing his mount through that section of the race.

5 9 DEVILDOM (H445) K De Melo After the event, K De Melo reported that he was instructed to take up a forward position as connections felt that there was a lack of pace in the event. Assistant Trainer H W Cheung confirmed the instructions issued.
12 10 LIGHTNING BOLT (G130) H T Mo (-2) After the event, H T Mo reported that his mount raced keenly in the early stages due to the pace of the race in the early stages being run outside of standard time. He said as a result LIGHTNING BOLT gave ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
1 11 AMAZING AWARD (J236) K Teetan Shortly after the start raced tight between BEAUTY ALLIANCE and HANDSOME BOMB which shifted out slightly. Shifted out after the 900 Metres and was bumped. Sent for sampling post-race.

5 1 KING PROFIT (J539) A Pouchin Over-raced throughout the early and middle stages and after the 800 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from MOTOMAN. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that the horse was lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, KING PROFIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
3 2 PERFECT GENERAL (J417) C Y Ho Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with FORTUNE WARRIOR. In the early stages raced keenly and making the turn after the 1000 Metres improved to the inside of KING PROFIT as that horse was being steadied to obtain cover. KING PROFIT (A Pouchin) then shifted in slightly, resulting in PERFECT GENERAL having to be steadied to avoid the heels of KING PROFIT. A Pouchin was advised to exercise more care. PERFECT GENERAL then continued to race keenly in the middle stages.
7 3 MOTOMAN (J436) A Atzeni Raced tight for some distance after the 100 Metres when improving between E UNIVERSE and ONE FOR ALL which shifted out. After the event, A Atzeni stated that his mount raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages and, in his opinion, resented racing amongst other horses. He said as a result MOTOMAN finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

2 5 SIGHT HAPPY (J261) Z Purton Bumped at the start. Near the 550 Metres commenced to race keenly when racing tight to the inside of MOTOMAN and as a result was checked to avoid BINGO BABE when that runner was eased when racing tight to the inside of E UNIVERSE. Approaching the 200 Metres blundered after making contact with MOTOMAN when improving into a tight run between BINGO BABE and MOTOMAN which shifted in. Sent for sampling post-race.

10 7 BINGO BABE (K115) M F Poon Near the 550 Metres was eased when racing tight to the inside of E UNIVERSE which lay in before being corrected by its rider M Chadwick.

1 9 HAPPY TRIO (G244) H Bentley Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. After the event, H Bentley reported that his instructions were to take up a forward position. When questioned regarding the improved performance, Trainer D J Whyte stated that at its previous race start HAPPY TRIO did not run out the 1650 Metres of the race. Sent for sampling post-race.
12 10 FOXHUNTER KING (J044) M L Yeung Shifted out on jumping, made contact with SIGHT HAPPY and became unbalanced. When commencing to improve to the outside of E UNIVERSE after the 100 Metres had to be checked when disappointed for clear running between KING PROFIT and E UNIVERSE which was taken out by MOTOMAN when that runner was taken out by ONE FOR ALL (L Ferraris). Whilst the Stewards found that FOXHUNTER KING had not established clear running, L Ferraris was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift out in this incident.

He said with the middle stages of the event being run inside of standard time FIREFOOT then gave ground when placed under pressure in the Home Straight. 12 7 PHANTOM CYCLONE (J271) K De Melo Bumped on jumping. After the event, K De Melo reported that when he felt there was something amiss with his mount he did not ride it out over the final 600 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of PHANTOM CYCLONE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, PHANTOM CYCLONE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
9 8 SNOWALOT (E397) B Thompson After the event, B Thompson reported that his mount raced "flat” tonight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 9 CLASSIC CENTURY (J440) L Ferraris Bumped on jumping. After the 200 Metres lay in and away from TURIN WARRIOR and made contact with FIREFOOT. After the event, L Ferraris reported that his mount gave ground in the Home Straight and following the event he felt there was something amiss with the horse. Trainer M Newnham stated that CLASSIC CENTURY had pleased him leading into the race and had expected it to perform well. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from the right nostril. An endoscopic examination confirmed the horse to be a bleeder. Before being allowed to race again, CLASSIC CENTURY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SIMPLE HEDGE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
11 10 AMAZING VICTORY (G123) C Y Ho Near the 500 Metres was briefly crowded between AESTHETICISM and SIMPLE HEDGE which shifted in slightly. Between the 500 Metres and the 400 Metres AMAZING VICTORY raced tight between SIMPLE HEDGE and AESTHETICISM which shifted out. After the event, C Y Ho reported that with the event being run outside of standard time throughout the early stages AMAZING VICTORY raced keenly and as a result did not finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A Atzeni (BEAUTY DESTINY) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 1000 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of THUNDER PRINCE, resulting in THUNDER PRINCE having to be checked when crowded between BEAUTY DESTINY and SUGAR SUGAR. A Atzeni was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 5 March 2025 and to expire on Monday, 10 March 2025 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). In addition, Jockey Atzeni was fined $60,000. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his neutral race riding record. THUNDER PRINCE, which was having its first race start at Happy Valley, raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages and for some distance approaching the 600 Metres was steadied away from SUGAR SUGAR. In this incident, THUNDER PRINCE shifted out and made the turn near the 600 Metres wider. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

In the early stages SERGEANT PEPPER continued to get its head up when being shifted behind runners. Trainer Y S Tsui confirmed that the instructions were to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.

When commencing to finish the race off was steadied when disappointed for clear running between ALLGREEKTOME and PARTERRE which shifted in passing the 200 Metres. FLAGSHIP WARRIOR was then shifted to the outside of PARTERRE near the 50 Metres to obtain clear running.
