After the event A Atzeni stated that his mount raced keenly in the early stages and then was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

4 7 SO AWESOME (D258) H Bowman Shifted out on jumping and was bumped. After the event H Bowman stated that his mount jumped only fairly and as a result settled slightly further back than intended. He added that SO AWESOME was not suited by the early stages of the event being run outside of standard time as the horse requires momentum to finish its races off. 5 4 MONARCH COUNTY (J421) H Bowman From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. In the early part of the Home Straight lay in. Approaching the 300 Metres was bumped by BLING BLING GENIUS which made the turn awkwardly and shifted out. Leaving the 150 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of CHARMING BABE to obtain clear running. Over the final 50 Metres MONARCH COUNTY then could not be ridden out when held up between CHARMING BABE and NEW POWER.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, FORTUNE WARRIOR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

4 8 FLYING WROTE (J290) M F Poon Shifted in abruptly at the start and made heavy contact with BLING BLING GENIUS. Near the 150 Metres bumped with TELECOM POWER. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
8 9 GOLDEN FRIENDSHIP (K106) H Bentley Shortly after the start was bumped by TELECOM POWER and became unbalanced. Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
6 10 TELECOM POWER (J332) A Badel Crowded shortly after the start. Near the 150 Metres made contact with FLYING WROTE when it was obtaining a narrow run between FLYING WROTE and NEW POWER which shifted in. TELECOM POWER then raced tight to the inside of FLYING WROTE over the concluding stages when FLYING WROTE lay in and as a result could not be ridden out to the finish of the event.
10 11 BLING BLING GENIUS (J397) A Hamelin On jumping was checked when crowded by FLYING WROTE which shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider. After the event A Hamelin stated that his mount raced ungenerously throughout the event and near the 600 Metres hung out across TELECOM POWER and was checked. He added BLING BLING GENIUS continued to race ungenerously and after making contact with MONARCH COUNTY near the 300 Metres did not finish the race off thereafter. A warning was placed on the racing manners of the horse. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 12 COLONEL (D090) B Thompson B Thompson was fined the sum of $5,000 for using the whip in an unnecessary manner on a horse that was out of contention. After the event B Thompson confirmed that from a wide barrier his instructions were to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages. Trainer J Richards confirmed the instructions and said he issued such instructions as COLONEL had been racing in a disappointing manner when being ridden forward at its most recent starts.

Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when it improved behind WINNING MONEY. After the event K De Melo stated that when his mount jumped only fairly and was crowded it settled further back in the field than intended.

11 4 GOOD LUCK WIN (J135) Y L Chung (-2) After the event Y L Chung stated that his mount did not show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position and as a result was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event. He added as a result his mount gave ground under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
6 5 AMAZING AWARD (J236) K Teetan Sustained a small abrasion to the right hip whilst being transported to Happy Valley. Was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. After the event K Teetan stated that his mount was disadvantaged when it was unable to improve into the event from the 600 Metres due to NAMJONG KINGDOM commencing to give ground. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 6 NAMJONG KINGDOM (K015) J Orman Raced wide and without cover until near the 900 Metres. After the event J Orman stated that when caught wide in the early stages he elected to allow the horse to stride forward to avoid covering additional ground which resulted in NAMJONG KINGDOM settling closer than expected. He added in the Home Straight his mount gave ground quickly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of NAMJONG KINGDOM, which finished tailed out on the second occasion in recent starts, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, NAMJONG KINGDOM will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in consecutive barrier trials and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.

UR 4 ETERNAL FORTUNE (K010) C L Chau (-2) After the 100 Metres was severely checked to avoid the fallen SEASONS WIT, resulting in its rider C L Chau being dislodged. C L Chau was subsequently transported to hospital for medical treatment. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained a laceration to the left front fetlock. <26/6/2025 Additional Veterinary Reports> ETERNAL FORTUNE, which was severely checked after the 100 Metres, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time the horse had sustained a laceration to the left front fetlock. ETERNAL FORTUNE was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer C S Shum this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, ETERNAL FORTUNE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

12 3 LAHORE (K043) Z Purton A Badel (SAVVY TWINKLE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 300 Metres he endeavoured to obtain a run between LAHORE and MEGA BONUS where there was not sufficient room to do so, resulting in SAVVY TWINKLE making heavy contact with LAHORE which became badly unbalanced and also resulting in SAVVY TWINKLE having to be checked when disappointed for clear running between MEGA BONUS and LAHORE and SAVVY TWINKLE then shifting in across the running of NEVER TOO SOON, resulting in NEVER TOO SOON having to be steadied to avoid SAVVY TWINKLE. A Badel was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 16 July 2025 at Happy Valley. In addition, Jockey Badel was fined $50,000. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his good race riding record. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

When the Stewards were satisfied that the contact was due to both runners shifting ground, having regard to the manner in which both horses finished the race off, the Stewards declined to lodge the protest/objection and declared weighed-in on the numbers semaphored by the Judge. For some distance after the 100 Metres raced tight between CALIFORNIA MOXIE and JUMBO FORTUNE, both of which shifted ground slightly.

After the event H Bentley stated that his mount raced keenly in the early stages and then did not run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.

5 8 STELLAR SWIFT (J139) H Bowman Bumped near the 300 Metres. Approaching the 600 Metres STELLAR SWIFT (H Bowman) and ROMANTIC LAOS (Z Purton) contested a position to the outside of OSI HONOUR which was commencing to give ground, resulting in STELLAR SWIFT and ROMANTIC LAOS making contact for some distance thereafter and STELLAR SWIFT then being crowded for room to the inside of ROMANTIC LAOS. Z Purton was reprimanded and advised that on this occasion he should have relieved the pressure being placed on STELLAR SWIFT sooner than what he did. H Bowman was also interviewed in relation to his left arm extending from his body. He stated that as he was required to place pressure on his left rein to prevent his mount being taken in, this resulted in his left elbow extending away from his body. After considering the evidence and in particular the evidence of Jockey Purton who said he did not feel any contact from Jockey Bowman’s elbow in this incident the Stewards took no direct action, however, Jockey Bowman was advised that, wherever possible, he should ensure that his arms remain in the confines of his body. Noted to be making a respiratory noise after the race. Sent for sampling post-race.
12 9 OSI HONOUR (K232) A Hamelin The performance of OSI HONOUR, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, OSI HONOUR will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
