Forsman, Andrew
Age: 40
Background:
New Zealander Andrew Forsman began his career in racing at trainer Murray Baker’s Cambridge stable. It was a part-time job to Forsman at first, but later he decided to make it full-time with Baker and worked his way to the roles of stable foreman and then as Baker’s assistant. Starting from the 2012/13 season he was promoted to work in a training partnership with Baker and the duo enjoyed plenty of success. Their term as co-trainers delivered 24 G1 victories in both Australia and New Zealand and four training championships in New Zealand. Forsman embarked on a solo training career after Baker’s retirement in April, 2022. Forsman is well known with a proven eye for young talent, purchasing Aegon at the Karaka Sales. Aegon won the 2020 G1 New Zealand 2000 Guineas.
