Racing Incident Report

DANZIGHILL jumped awkwardly, bumped the inside of its gate. SURVEY GENERAL missed the start. In the early stages, DANZIGHILL hung in. About the 1300 Metres, HORSE OF FAME, which was proving difficult to settle, was checked when crowded between SOMLUCK and SHAXI FORTUNE which was taken in slightly by CRYSTAL CHARM. In view of all the circumstances, no action was taken. Rounding the turn, BRILLIANT WAY and GONLARGO came together several times. For a short distance in the early part of the Straight, KENWOOD MELODY had trouble obtaining a clear run. About the 300 Metres, SOMLUCK was checked when disappointed for running between HORSE OF FAME which shifted in slightly and KENWOOD MELODY which shifted to the outside of SURVEY GENERAL to find running. For some distance near the 200 Metres, RED SUN was held up for a run. About the 200 Metres, HORSE OF FAME was checked when crowded between KENWOOD MELODY which was racing tight outside SURVEY GENERAL and BRILLIANT WAY (Apprentice Y T Cheng) which shifted in whilst being ridden out and hanging in. In the special circumstances, it was decided to take no direct action, but Apprentice Y T Cheng was severely reprimanded and told in similar circumstances he must avoid causing crowding such as this, stop riding and straighten even if his own chance of success is diminished. Near the winning post, KENWOOD MELODY was checked to avoid CRYSTAL CHARM (R Fradd) which shifted out. R Fradd was reprimanded and told in similar circumstances he must stop riding and straighten. SHAXI FORTUNE was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
