Racing Incident Report

FOR SZESZE jumped very awkwardly with its head up. On leaving the gates, FORTUNE ASSOCIATES was checked when crowded between VIKING DANCER and SIR TIMAH which on jumping shifted in. In the early stages, BOXING DAY hung out. As a consequence of this, inconvenience was caused to ME GUINNESS which was obliged to travel wider. About the 400 Metres, REFRESHINGLY was unbalanced and awkwardly placed between GLOBAL RUNNER and QUEST FOR LUCK which was giving ground. About the 300 Metres, FOR SZESZE was steadied when crowded between WINNING MASCOT and JOYFUL STAR which shifted in to go forward. S Dye (SIR TIMAH) said he did not ride the horse out as hard as he normally would right to the line as he felt the horse was unbalanced. D Harrison (QUEST FOR LUCK) explained the horse, which was having its first race start today, was stirred up on the way to the post despite being accompanied by an Outrider and after being boxed continued to be restless. He said in the early stages QUEST FOR LUCK was obliged to travel wide and without any cover, proved very difficult for him to settle and hung out. He went on to say QUEST FOR LUCK was well beaten before straightening, in the Straight dropped out and generally was very disappointing. He did say the horse was expected to run competitively as it had trialed well at Happy Valley and its work since then had been good. Before being allowed to race again, QUEST FOR LUCK will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BUCK'S FIZZ and QUEST FOR LUCK were sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
