Racing Incident Report

On jumping, BRILLIANT LEADER and ELEGANCE bumped. Over about the last 200 Metres, GUSCOTT did not obtain clear running. As a consequence of this, the horse was not ridden out to the line as it normally would be. Over about the last 100 Metres, HONEST STEED was held up for running. As a consequence, the horse was not properly tested out. In the run to the winning post, SEA PEARL was inclined to lay in. When asked about the disappointing performance of JADE RUYI, J Egan said he had been riding the horse in its recent work, this had been good. He said the horse to him looked well and it was anticipated JADE RUYI would run well tonight. He said the horse came out a little awkwardly as it often does, he then had a reasonable run in the race although awkwardly placed for some distance near the 600 Metres. He said in recent wins JADE RUYI had been able to find runs through the field, but tonight he was obliged to shift out to find clear running, the horse did not close off as he expected it would and was in his opinion disappointing. Before concluding the matter, the Stewards will allow Mr L Ho, trainer of JADE RUYI, an opportunity to explain the disappointing run. JADE RUYI was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
