Racing Incident Report

Near the 1600 Metres, GREENMORE was steadied from inside the heels of DIAMOND MOON. At the 600 Metres, PERFETTO was carried wider when CHEERS WINNER shifted from behind INDUBITABLY BLISS to improve. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, DON SEBASTIAN commenced to hang in and continued to hang in in the Straight. On straightening, PERFETTO and SNOWSTORM bumped. Also on straightening, CHEERS WINNER was bumped by ELEPHANT DANCE which shifted out to find clear running. D Whyte (UNIVERSAL CHARGER) said his mount did not travel at any stage of the race and was under pressure at the 1000 Metres. He said he tried to make his run from about the 600 Metres as in the past the horse had shown it is best suited when ridden in this way, however, when MINE HOST shifted out near the 500 Metres, UNIVERSAL CHARGER was reluctant to go past that horse and then in the Straight did not respond to his riding and was disappointing. He said he had been riding the horse in track work leading up to tonight's race and this work in his opinion had been good. He said he was not able to offer any explanation for the performance of UNIVERSAL CHARGER. PERFETTO was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. After the race, PERFETTO was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No significant findings were made. SNOWSTORM and ELEPHANT DANCE were sent for sampling.
