Racing Incident Report
Trainer D Oughton was fined $2,000 for having presented WISHMASTER in the Parade Ring without a ring bit, part of its approved racing gear. WISHMASTER had this ring bit fitted prior to leaving the Parade Ring. VICTORY MARBLE began awkwardly and got its head up. ONE STEP AHEAD began awkwardly, became unbalanced and shifted out, as a consequence lost ground. On jumping, PEPPERONI and SPEED LORD bumped. From a wide barrier, HELENE PILLAGING was immediately steadied and taken across behind runners to a position closer to the rail. Near the 1000 Metres, VICTORY MARBLE was momentarily steadied to avoid the heels of SILENT WITNESS which shifted in when only just clear. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, LUCKY SIX hung out. This caused some inconvenience to WISHMASTER which was carried wider. Making the turn after the 800 Metres, SNIPPEDYDOODA hung out. Also making the turn after the 800 Metres, KIMBERLEY MINES, which had been ridden quietly today, proved difficult to settle and hung out. After the 600 Metres, BOBO WIN was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of VICTORY MARBLE. Near the 200 Metres, WISHMASTER got its head on the side and hung in. Because of this, H K Yim, its rider, changed the whip into his right hand. After the 200 Metres, HELENE ELEGANCE and VICTORY MARBLE brushed. After this, HELENE ELEGANCE hung in. After the race, S Dye reported when giving ground under pressure, WINTROW lost its action. WINTROW was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. Following the race, WINTROW was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said he was not able to detect any significant findings. Before being permitted to race again, WINTROW will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SILENT WITNESS and GALLANT KNIGHT were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported LUCKY SIX had bled from both nostrils.
