Racing Incident Report
ARRIBA-ARRIBA stood flat-footed and lost ground at the start. CHAMPION SPEED and COSMO SUCCESS were a little slow to begin. In the early stages, ACCLAMATION proved difficult to settle. Near the 1300 Metres, TELECOM BABE shifted out away from the heels of KING OF THE TURF. At the 600 Metres, ACCLAMATION was crowded for room inside BEAMING RIVER which had its head on the side and hung in. At the 250 Metes, SUCCESSFUL SPIRIT shifted in and bumped THE RICH MAN on two occasions. At the 100 Metres, SUCCESSFUL SPIRIT, which was giving ground, again shifted in and bumped THE RICH MAN. From a wide gate, throughout the race BEAMING RIVER travelled wide and without cover, then over the concluding stages dropped out. The performance of BEAMING RIVER was considered unacceptable. Before the horse will be permitted to race again, it must perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. ACCLAMATION and BEAMING RIVER were sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, ACCLAMATION and BEAMING RIVER were examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at this time there were no significant findings. COSMO SUCCESS and QUICK STEP were sent for sampling.
