Racing Incident Report
KING OF FIELD was withdrawn on 10.6.04 on veterinary grounds ("tying up") and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter BRAINIEST. Before being allowed to race again, KING OF FIELD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After arriving at the Start, G Schofield (ELETTARIN) expressed concern over the horse's action. ELETTARIN was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said after the necessary consultations the horse was suitable to race. BRAINIEST and STAR OF LIHLIN began awkwardly. KING OF TURBOT was a little slow to begin. Shortly after the start, KING OF TURBOT was checked, crowding was caused to TAIJI SPIRIT and PLEASURE PLEASURE as a result of A BETTER DRAGON shifting in abruptly. After this incident, TAIJI SPIRIT was ridden along to make up ground, commenced to over-race and near the 900 Metres was steadied away from the heels of BRAINIEST. Near the 1300 Metres, PLEASURE PLEASURE was checked when crowded for room inside TAIJI SPIRIT (Apprentice M W Leung) which when being ridden along got its head on the side and shifted in away from A BETTER DRAGON. Apprentice M W Leung was advised to exercise more care. Near the 1200 Metres, GLORIOUS RHYTHM was momentarily crowded for room inside TAIJI SPIRIT. Making the Home Turn, KING OF SPADES and FLYING KENNY raced tight due mainly to FLYING KENNY endeavouring to shift out into clear running. Near the 300 Metres, GLORIOUS RHYTHM was steadied when disappointed for running between TAIJI SPIRIT and JOYWIN COMBINATION, both of which were giving ground. At the 200 Metres, H K Yim (FLYING KENNY) dropped his whip. GLORIOUS RHYTHM, KING OF SPADES and KING OF THE TURF were sent for sampling.
