Racing Incident Report
BEAR DOMINANCE was slow to begin. When the gates opened, MOMENTUM bounded in the air and lost ground. On jumping, CORNWALL CHIEFS shifted in and bumped PACIFIC ALLIANCE. In the early stages, TRAVEL LEADER and GOLD FIELD proved difficult to settle. Near the 1200 Metres, LUCKY HANDS was steadied when crowded for room inside TRAVEL LEADER which got its head up and shifted in away from the heels of CORNWALL CHIEFS. G Mossé (DASHING THUNDER) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 800 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of PEAK POWER, causing PEAK POWER to be carried in across the rightful running of SHABU SHABU which as a result was checked. G Mossé was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday 22 November 2004 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of this suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting next Sunday 14 November 2004. In addition, G Mossé was fined $30,000 in lieu of a suspension for a period incorporating one further raceday. For some distance after the 400 Metres, TRAVEL LEADER was unable to obtain clear running, then after the 300 Metres was steadied when crowded for room between PEAK POWER and CORNWALL CHIEFS which momentarily shifted out. At the 350 Metres, LUCKY HANDS was shifted to the outside of ALWAYS ZIETEN to find clear running. Near the 300 Metres, SHABU SHABU was checked when crowded for room between GOLD FIELD and BEAR DOMINANCE, both of which shifted ground. Throughout the race, DASHING THUNDER raced wide and without cover. SHABU SHABU was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SHABU SHABU after the race did not show any significant findings. DASHING THUNDER, SPRINTER and PEAK POWER were sent for sampling.
